It really depends on how good his season is. If he plays well with one of the kids and whoever the second line center is, his value could go through the roof. If his stats tank somewhat because his line mates aren't up to par, we could see something disappointing.
Of course if he has 40-50 pts at the deadline, man unless we are totally out of it, dealing him would be a tough pill to swallow even if we know it's the right move. |

Anything short of top prospects or picks or a legit 2C. However to be honest, I cant imagine anything (within reason) coming back our way that would make me happy.
Like, my pipedream is them getting Barkov to play with Kakko. |

Only one way you're ever going to get Barkov from Florida:

I think he could match what Hayes got
I think Kreider's 11 team NTC is still a problem though and it's been more of a problem than people realize |

I also wonder if teams see what we did with Hayes, and might be a bit more hesitant in giving us the same for CK. I think all of the high profile deadline deals didn't really work out for teams. I guess you could say Zucc kinda worked for the Stars, but even they lost in the 2nd round and I'm not sure Zucc qualifies as high profile. |

Hayes is a center don't centers typically get paid better than comparable wingers? |

Come on, who you kidding. There is ALWAYS a team looking to get that one last piece. Teams will never be "scared" to deal at the deadline. Especially if it's someone like Kreider |

If the Flyers are still 2-3 years away, they are going to be a pretty old team after those 2-3 years. Even all of their young D will be entering their mid 20s and they had better hope those guys don't decline in their late 20s like our guys did. |

You aren't wrong. Is CK the best trade chip available? I doubt the Devs would deal Hall, but that has to be in theory the best one right? |

Capitals draft pick Chase Priskie isn't signing with them and is this year's top college UFA as of August 15th
right handed defenseman, wonder if Rangers will be in on it - jimbo83
They'd be fools not too. I've been on record in saying I want as much competition for future spots as possible. |

No doubt. Eating my words here, but I would think the price to attain Hall would be too much. If Kreider is the next guy in line, that probably raises his value a little.
I think it would be a telling sign if he slipped statistically this year, with all the talent surrounding him. This is probably the best group of forwards he's ever played with, right? At least from a potential standpoint. |

Only way thats happening is if he tells management there is no way he is re-signing with them |

Interesting names there. Not sure the Blues would trade him or let him walk since they gave up so much to acquire him, but I'd slot CK at about whatever the same value you'd think Brayden Schenn would get. |

Larry Brooks:
NYR shadow roster: Lundqvist, Georgiev; Trouba, Skjei, Staal, Fox, Hajek; Mika, Chytil, Strome; Howden; Panarin, Kreider, Andersson, Namestnikov; Buchnevich, Kakko, Kravtsov, Fast. (Lemieux, DeAngelo unsigned; Smith, Beleskey AHL). Cap $77.815M, space $3.685M
Figure when ADA and Lemieux sign, maybe $1-1.5 mil of room, possibly less depending on if its a one- or two-year deal. |

2 RFA no offer sheets as of yet, they have no leverage they play for their qualifiers prove what they can do and then get paid. Why do more than that? |

1.5 of room would be enough for two callups depending on what their NHL salaries are
extremely tight
and if Kakko, Kravtsov and Fox hit rookie bonuses, that could be overages into next year's cap which already includes Shatty at 6 mil, Girardi at over 1 mil, Spooner
they'd really do themselves a service if they made a little more room |

Highly doubt he'd come here even if we were in play, the pipeline is so deep now with youth it's impossible to be assured he'd even make it, Trouba, Deangelo, Fox and Lundkvist |
