1.5 of room would be enough for two callups depending on what their NHL salaries are

extremely tight

and if Kakko, Kravtsov and Fox hit rookie bonuses, that could be overages into next year's cap which already includes Shatty at 6 mil, Girardi at over 1 mil, Spooner

they'd really do themselves a service if they made a little more room

Trade him and sign Reider to a 1 year $1 million dollar deal, same type of player for $3 mil less

For sure. I expect we are going to see wiggle room moves made all season long, where our young, waiver-exempt players will be "sent down" and recalled every time they have a few days off to save a few dollars each time.

If Kreider goes at the deadline whats everyones guess on the return?

1st & a good prospect?

- mrn22

If you're looking for comps, Skinner was traded before the season but he fetched a 2nd, 3rd, and a good prospect. He was also a year younger than Kreider and a better goal scorer.

Usually, you get a little more at the deadline when teams panic and overpay vs. the summer where they can over analyze trades, BUT this 2020 draft is an all timer, where guys in the 20's would have normally gone in the teens, even early teens. I don't think teams are going to give up a pick next year if they can avoid it.

With the expansion draft coming up, teams might be more willing to trade older prospects they can't protect rather than a pick, but that'll only work if the receiving team has an open slot. Conclusion: there will be less trades this year than normal.

why wouldn't the team you are trading Stinky to just do that instead? LOL

(by the way, even if they got rid of Nam, I dont want to sign a guy that didn't score a single goal last year, that's against my principles)

Agreed. They have a few long homestands, where they'll probably send guys down to Hartford to save $, knowing that they can call them (or another player) back up and get them there quickly if there's an injury.

Good to keep in mind next year when we might need a couple bargain bin parts on 1 yr contracts. A ton of those guys probably won't get signed. Sort of nuts.

when you look at all these guys team's can have for free, it makes it real easy to see why no one wants to trade for Nam or Strome

Nichuskin is KHL bound, no? He's a total basket case, but if I was a hopeless team up against the cap, I would totally take a stab in the dark at him. One of those, I wouldn't want him on the Rangers, but if I'm someone like the Yotes why not?

Rangers can take a chance on a guy like Reider to bounce back, We can't fool anyone on Namestnikov anymore

I wouldn't even wanna though

if they need a 13th forward type, may as well just go with Di Giuseppe or one of the AHL guys

give Gettinger more of a look, Fogarty

maybe Jake Elmer is the glue to finally bring it all together

the point is I never even disliked JT Miller, it's that this psychopath never shuts up about him.

THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON WITH THIS TEAM RIGHT NOW

he does this all the time when he never shuts up about something, it's just like Coyle, Dumba, all that crap, he's a sick bastard

- jimbo83

I mean, if I brought him up I could see your point. But other people bring him up. I was worried about you yesterday, you say ppl are sick in the head but the fit you threw yesterday isn’t normal. It seems like when something doesn’t go your way or you disagree with something you can’t deal with it. How come your the only one on here that goes off the deep end like that? Have I told you Miller would’ve been 1st 2nd and 3rd the last 3 years in points on the Rangers? It’s ok though, we have the great Vlad Namestnikov now instead.

Rangers seem like they are doing all their due diligence with putting that coaching staff together in Hartford which is a refreshing change

I don't know, I am sure he coached the defensemen and that group in Philly has had it's ups and downs

but they seem to really carefully be considering what they are doing in Hartford

I remember Murphy pretty well as a player, he was solid

No, I think your completely out of your mind, but you make it as though I bring up Miller and that’s just not the case. Other ppl bring up Miller but since it agrees with how you feel about him it’s ok, you’ve never told other ppl to stop bringing him up since it aligns with how you feel. If I respond and say he was good you melt. Makes complete sense.
