I don't know, I am sure he coached the defensemen and that group in Philly has had it's ups and downs

but they seem to really carefully be considering what they are doing in Hartford

I remember Murphy pretty well as a player, he was solid

- jimbo83

Well put. They looked good early and Murphy got a lot of credit, then they seemed to regress and he got a lot of the blame. That's how it goes.

Obviously, he and Knoblaugh worked together so there's no learning curve for them to mesh in Hartford.

One additional factor from Adam Kimmelman: "Murphy worked 2 seasons with Kris Knoblauch so that should make it a pretty smooth situation."

No, I think your completely out of your mind, but you make it as though I bring up Miller and that’s just not the case. Other ppl bring up Miller but since it agrees with how you feel about him it’s ok, you’ve never told other ppl to stop bringing him up since it aligns with how you feel. If I respond and say he was good you melt. Makes complete sense.

listen you (frank)ing nutbag

Miller was brought up to you as a (frank)ing JOKE yesterday, somebody was JOKING with you

and then you precede to type out the same stuff you have typed on this blog 14 million times defending him

it's like if when they put up a Hamrlik pic as a joke to me, HE WAS JOKING WITH YOU.

You are goddamn crazy

For me, Jimmy the voice of reason. On Twitter, on FB, on here. Don't know how everyone doesn't see him that way.

To the contrary, I can barely even grow a respectable beard. Kind of like a Sidney Crosby playoff beard at best.

JT obviously has his flaws like any other player, but he was good for us in many ways which I don't think too many people would dispute. Is he better than Nam? Yes, and I think most would agree with that too. The issue is that you seem to be 100% sure that the deal was: McDonagh for Howden, Hajek, a 1st (Lundvist) and a conditional first (ended up being 2nd - Henriksson). And then separately, Miller for Nam. Others disagree with that, including me. Even if that was the case, that is such a haul for McDonagh that taking one on the chin for Miller isn't that bad, which is what made it a good deal in the first place. Keep in mind Miller is also making $5.25M for another 4 years whereas we will be free from Nam next year. I don't think people here are saying that Miller was a bad player, but he was a necessary casualty to get younger assets. I think its hard to make an argument that despite his point totals the past couple of years, JT Miller would have helped this hockey team. If anything having Miller would have us lose out on Kakko by netting us a few more wins.

I wish he would respond to a reasonable discussion about this but I think we have tried 14,562,178 times to do so

Looking at the UFA list...and because I literally want to read about anyone other than JT Miller right now can someone tell me why after Robin Lehner puts the Isles on his back and rebounds as well as he did they let him walk for nothing? ...and Chicago only signed him for 1 year?

There has to be baggage or skepticism that I missed
