I never bought into this. If it was Toronto's signature food you could get it all over the place. Does anybody really care about the peameal except when they are at St. Lawrence? Hell I get Italian panini there anyway.
Toronto's real food signature is the diversity of food available. There's no one dish. To equate it with Philly Cheesesteak is (frank)ing absurd.
Edit: the Kozlik's mustard shop in the market does rule though |

Couldn't be more wrong. (I've watched a ton of Colorado since they're currently my second favorite team.)
Barrie is leaps and bounds better that Gardner PLUS he is on the right side...our weakest side and by a long shot. Barrie immediately makes the right side almost Rielly better while Gardiner not being on the left side makes it vastly better.
Rielly
Muzzin
Dermott
on the left is really solid NHL level D.
Ceci is better than Zaitsev, opinion more than factual but I find it hard to believe from what I've seen of both that this not true. AND, because of Barrie he can slide DOWN the line up on the right. No more 7d on the first pairing playing his offside.
Right side of
Barrie
Lilijigren
Ceci
Is a HUGE improvement on our D.
Once healthy and after evaluation time from Babs, I could see...
Rielly, Barrie (Puck will NEVER be in our end)
Muzzin, Lilijigren/Ceci (Vet with rookie, or Vet with Ceci so he finds his game)
Derrmott, Lil/Ceci (Very acceptable bottom pairing.)
(frank)ing doomsdayers in here.
The NHL is a game of small mistakes. We just lost a WHOLE SHIITE TON of small mistakes on our D.
It will be MUCH improved next season.

Even the best teams in the league see the puck in their own zone 50% of the time, Rielly and Barrie are “just ok” in that end of the rink.
But we’ll know for sure by Dec 30th if the team has improved or not. 👍

Matthews/Tavares is the sickest 1-2 punch in the NHL, including Crosby/Malkin (primarily due to age, though).
Barrie is a HUGE upgrade over Gardiner. Most forget that Barrie almost single handedly shut down the Flames offense in the playoffs... if he brings that same intensity to the Leafs during this year's playoffs, we are LAUGHING our way into at LEAST the 2nd round.
Kerfoot > Kadri. He plays much bigger than he is, he is younger, smarter and has a way better handle on his emotions. My bet is a career year alongside Moore and Kapanen to form one of the better 3rd lines in the league.
Spezza is the best 4th line C in the entire NHL.
Ceci = Zaitsev at the very least.. many would argue that he was mishandled in Ottawa.
Hainsey was a solid dman once. His tenure with the Leafs was not a balanced affair. It was really good for Hainsey in that he parlayed it into an overpayment from the Sens. It was horrible for the Leafs in that he was on the ice WAY too often, and people had this false sense of his value. Addition by subtraction.. totally agree with whoever made that comment earlier.
Speaking of addition by subtraction, am I the only one who is excited that Johnsson and Moore are going to get more ice time with Marleau gone?? These are skilled young kids who are hungry and tenacious on the puck. Split that extra 15 mins that Marleau was playing and give Johnsson and Moore an extra 7:30 of ice time a piece and watch how many more goals we score/prevent.
If we can prevent even 3 or 4 more goals across a 7 game series with this lineup (and I definitely think we can), we are going to be really excited come April, May and possibly June. We just need Freddie to stop the biscuit. And if he plays 6-10 less games during the regular season, he will be that much sharper come playoff time. Neuvirth wins the backup spot out of camp and plays 26 games with the buds, and goes 15-7-2. Big improvement over Sparks.
This team is WAY better on paper than last year's squad. Matthews is named Captain coming out of training camp, plays a full 82 games, and hits 50 goals.
JT hits around 45 goals, similar production to last year. Still the best free agent signing in the modern era.
Nylander looked super-human in the Worlds.. I see a huge bounce-back season for his first 70 point season.
Rielly takes a little bit of a production dip to 60 points, but Barrie maintains his production, so we have two 55+ point dmen.
Sandin makes the team out of camp and takes Dermott's spot while Dermott is injured. He plays so solidly as a rookie that they cannot send him back down when Dermott returns, so Dermott slots in next to him as a lefty on the right side. That pairing goes on to have a stronger season than anticipated and becomes the 2nd pairing next year when Ceci and Muzzin are gone.
Marner signs for 10M over 6 seasons and hits 100 points in his 2nd season with JT.
I agree with Craig Button when he said this is absolutely a Championship caliber team if they get the goaltending they need in the playoffs. - Snowman X

Right on my mustard brother. I tend to run half a dozen or so Kozlik's at a time.
At the St. Lawrence shop I asked for the XXX and the staff picked out a jar from a batch that was fresher so would be particularly hot. I love Kozlik's. Doing samples there is one of the gems of the city. |

A friend of mine has a Mustard phobia. Freaks the hell out any time he's near it. So strange but I cant help but laugh every time I'm in the same room as him and mustard.

My office is a ghost town.
I'm hoping to fade away around 3 pm.
Want to hear the saddest franking True Wedgie Story® ever?
For reasons I don't want to get into (Mrs. Wedgie franked up), we need to board the dog for Saturday night.
Of course, all our friends are out of town, and the local kennels are all booked up. So we start shooting emails around last night through a service that is essentially Air BnB for dogs.
One woman emails back - she won't be in town on the weekend, but would it be OK if she brought our dog up to her cottage?
There you have it, folks: My wife and I stuck in the city alone this long weekend, and our franking dog just got a cottage invite from a stranger.

there has been no upgrading just a rotation of similar parts. i would argue that zaitsev is superior to ceci while barrie in gardiner out is nothing more than a lateral move. - LeafnsNxt2Godlyns

the leafs also lost kadri and kerfoot is not as good or better than him. spezza is older now and past his prime just in case you wanted to go down that line. marner is still unsigned.
did the paint chips crumble off your leafs colored glasses and go directly down your throat? or did you accidentally snort them? |

How many goals and points did Naz have last year? How many did kerfoot get last year?
They also got berrie, at half cap hit retained.
Derp some more. Clueless.

like that matters when he was playing 3rd line centre on the leafs and was/is on a great contract. kadri's numbers are gonna go up next season playing 2nd line and sometimes 1st line behind and with mackinnon. barrie is gardiner 2.0 at half price, YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! bum. |
