There has been talk for ages now about the Leafs’ making a max-term offer, some time ago, at eight years and more than $10-million a season. Giving away that many UFA years, however, was a no-go for the Marner camp.

They apparently countered with three years at around a $10-million annual value, which would be the richest bridge deal in NHL history – by quite a bit. (Consider that Nikita Kucherov’s three-year bridge back in 2016 was for just under $4.8-million AAV.)

Sweet we can get back to the Marner talks..

why would Marners side ask for double what NK got...3 years ago. Thats not reasonable.. if its true at all, then he wants to sit out. holy F

My office is a ghost town.

I'm hoping to fade away around 3 pm.

Want to hear the saddest franking

True Wedgie Story®

ever?

For reasons I don't want to get into (Mrs. Wedgie franked up), we need to board the dog for Saturday night.

Of course, all our friends are out of town, and the local kennels are all booked up. So we start shooting emails around last night through a service that is essentially Air BnB for dogs.

One woman emails back - she won't be in town on the weekend, but would it be OK if she brought our dog up to her cottage?

There you have it, folks: My wife and I stuck in the city alone this long weekend, and our franking dog just got a cottage invite from a stranger.

I'm surprised a Bruins fan even knows how to spell the word paragraph. Excellent dictation skills.

Show up at the cottage with the dog and your weekend gear, and then just stay.

Make him sit the whole year, and move Nylander to 4C. That’ll learn them both.

I think he just sits until the last possible second and then signs one of the deal.

I'm assuming it will be because they sign Miroslav Satan to a big contract.
