I have my doubts but I'll give you a short window and a short benefit of the doubt. Please show me how the post you quoted now criticizes Hakstols usage of Lindblom?

This is where we'll start. Here is your big chance. Let's see what you got.

Also mocking someone on a message board isn’t a good look... you come off as a pretty big douche.

It’s not a coincidence that once Lindblom got more minutes under a new coach he started to blossom
- Lildots

You're being small minded and discounting how lessons learned contribute to a player starting to blossom. Lindblom also had numerous games under Hakstol where he received plenty of ice time. As usual with young players, ice time tends to fluctuate with level of play.

Nepotism runs deep in flyers organization
- SMS4016

It’s a common theme within every organization, if you’ve played there and built personal relationships, you’re more likely than not to get an opportunity to work there if you want to.

Great insight on Oscar. I feel like over the past few seasons under Hakstol player deployment has been borderline suspect and outright absurd to me at times. Lindblom is still cutting his teeth at the NHL level and I think there's still room to grow. He's a great example of the modern era NHL player that can play the 200 foot game. He's got all the tools.

So strong along the boards as well, imagine if this guy had some speed. Not the slowest guy but for sure not a burner by any means. Always finds his way to the front of the net, need more guys like this.

In my opinion player development under Hakstol was very good and it was a strong point of his.

It's to difficult to determine, how would we know where players would be under someone else or what their ceiling or floor is? There's good examples and bad, Lindblom and TK seemed to have turned out well, albeit early, but then look at Patrick or Ghost. Player development is mostly on the player, yes coaching helps but it's almost impossible to measure to what extent. Not saying he did a bad job.

Lindblom can play the right side as well as the left, so he could end up being the 3RW.

Giroux-Couturier-Konency
JVR-Hayes-Voracek
Farabee/Frost-Patrick-Lindblom
Raffl-Laughton-Pitlick/NAK

- Feanor

Lindblom says he's comfortable playing either RW or LW although he hasn't played RW regularly in a very long time.
I think the line up you suggested could be exactly what were going to see to start the season. Maybe we can see if Frost or Farabee can play on the 2LW spot and JVR on 3LW. That would give us even more depth spread throughout the lineup.
I'm also not opposed to starting Frost and Farabee in the AHL. We'll have to see how they perform in training camp and preseason.

It's what I expected. You've got squat. I'm fine with NHL coaches using ice time as a tool in developing young players. Every NHL coach does it. Vigneault will do it with the Flyers young players. He may just have better veterans to choose from. The arrogance is your perception and I don't care what you think about that. If you want to have discussions with me on my opinions, I'll be glad to do so but only if your tone changes. If not, then I'll just go with what MBFlyer posted and add you to the list.

Weird how now you criticize hakstols usage when all season long you worshiped all of his moves. And still say he was right by using the veterans over the young guys.

Serious question... which players do you think he developed beyond what anyone else could have done? I don't think Konecny or Lindblom were particularly helped by him. Sanheim went to the AHL and came back strong, so that's not Hak's doing. Provy and Ghost have been up and down, with neither particularly praising Hak and Ghost actually seeming annoyed with how he was coached. Patrick is a borderline bust at this point for a #2 pick, and heading into a huge make or break season as far as his future with the team and his next contract. Guys like Leier, Vorobyev, NAK, etc did nothing in their time up here and never got to play much.

Seems like for a college coach who was brought in to help guide a young team, he relied way too much on underperforming veterans.

Player development is on the player, soak in what coaches and vets are saying/doing, apply it to your game, preparation, body. There are for sure people who are better than others but at the end of the day it's up to the player.

You're looking at his all from the wrong perspective. Who he might have done better than is an unknown. You're totally discounting the time Sanheim spent with the Flyers under Hakstol as a factor in his development. Development of young players is rarely linear and ups and downs are all part of it. Young players unhappy with coaches doesn't prove anything. One would expect young players to be unhappy with ice time cut. Way premature to label Patrick a near bust. Every player is not going to develop.

Keep making bad predictions and calling people stupid for thinking that Laughton is going to get more than 2M in his next contract.

Lindlblom may not have scored as much as I would have liked ( 17G, 16A ), but he usually seemed to put himself in the proper position on the ice. I believe the goals will come as he gets more playing time. His chemistry with Patrick was obvious. Hopefully that gets even better this season?

23/14/93 were possession beasts this past season. With Hayes added it'll be interesting to see how he gells with those 2 (assuming it is those 2).

I think we now have enough depth that we can go back to the big 3 (28-14-93). You see what these lines can do to dictate games around the league (COL,BOS,CGY).

Troll.

Its posts like this, that have demonstrably false statements, that drag this site in to the gutter. Just GTFO here.

Does MJL live in your head so rent free that you have to create a new login just so you can troll?

Sad.

Here we go again, the bully squad defending their own. I read every day but rarely post because of the one group of bullies who support each other regularly. MJL was a major league Hextall and Hakstol supporter and how did that work out. I called those two minor leaguers out long before ownership figured it out.
