I FOUND Gerbe at a recent Sabres Game.....He seems to take Notes on Players!

Eichel criminally underrated still even by the NHL network. Was ranked the 15th best Center in the league. He should be top 10 no question.

It’s gotta be because of all the losing. Lead the team to the playoffs and watch that 15 get closer to single digits. Not saying it’s right, but it does effect perception.

Skinner-Eichel-Cozens would make a really nice line. I think Cozens is guaranteed to be a top 6 forward whether he plays down the middle or on the wing. I see a bit of Jeff Carter/Mark Scheifele in him.
- Swedish_Jesus

I could also see Cozens not fulfilling his potential & just being a good 2way 3C

The range of outcomes for him seems pretty wide imo

This is where I think he ends up.
He could be perfect in a couple years on Mitts right wing...go to the net kinda guy.
Will be fun to watch his development though.

- IonSabres

Cozens staying at Center or moving to wing could depend on a few factors:
1) can he pass Mitts as 2C ?
2) if he doesn’t, does Asplund develop to the point where we like him at 3C ?
3) is Cozens just better on the wing?

One thing that i like about the guys that look to be our future, is that many of them are versatile enough to play different positions

Gives us lots of options

He wasn’t my guy in that spot, but I’ve talked myself into Cozens. Mainly for my own sanity.
But if the Wings take Zegras at 6, I’m totally jazzed about Dylan at 7. So, I dunno.

I’d probably have taken Caufield,
but i don’t dislike the Cozens pick

I just hope he turns out to be a goal scorer,
bc that’s what we lack the most imo with our forward group

I get the cozen pick in botts eyes he has balls for making a really really risky pick I would have took Zegras ( if I wanted a center )who will develop into a sure number 1 center

I just don’t like project players like cozen it just never works out for us

- gerbe75pts

You mean the kid with the catastrophic achilles injury and surgery? They don't always heal right.

The "scout" McKenzie had Cozens higher than Zegras as of 6/17. 6 and 7 respectively. Caufield at 9. But what does he know?

Edit: The major rankings had Cozens at an average of 11 a spread of 4-14. Considering all those guys are just down to preference, it's where he should've gone.

I think that might’ve worked against Zegras. Much more of a distributor than a scorer. Even though his shot looked fine to me.

Gross.

What? That would be a good outcome. He had 13 goals for the Sabres in 10-11 and 10 in 11-12.

“Russ Cohen from Sportsology” had Cozen ranked 12th. Great job, Botts!! You got the 12th best player with the 7th pick!!!

Nice try....Using "Russ Cohen" who selected Alex Nylander ahead of Alex Debrincat and Clayton Keller

as well as

Jesse Puljujärvi 3rd Over all ahead of Matthew Tkachuk

How about the following

NHL.com

-Lepage -3 OA Cozens 84 points (34 goals, 50 assists) in 58 games and is one of the fastest and most threatening forwards in the 2019 draft class.

-Kimelman --4 OA Cozens: An outstanding skater for his size, he could fill the Avalanche's hole at second-line center as soon as next season.

BleacherReport
5 OA Dylan Cozens, C/W, Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL)

TSN
8 OA Dylan Cozens

I could continue but you get the point, we can all cherry pick

At the time everyone had him 3rd overall so let’s not go that route ..

And if we’re doing the Keller thing .. who was the one that said he was going top ten and “someday “ said I was high
