Sounds like I went back in time to 2012 when we said the same thing about a prospect
- gerbe75pts

Talking about Grigorenko?
His rookie year he played 25 games in Buffalo and 33 with the Remparts.
2nd year he played 18 games with Buffalo, 23 with the Remparts and 9 with Rochester.
3rd year 25 games with Buffalo and 43 with Rochester.
It wasn't until his fourth year that he was in the NHL full time.
Not to mention he went from Ron Rolston to Teddy Nolan for his head coaches during his time here.

Casey spent a year in college and Tage did two years. Maybe going back to Lethbridge is not the answer for him. He's not playing with a lot of talent and there may not be anything left for him to learn there.
- adambuffalo

9 games for cozens won’t hurt him ...... he does fine. He stays. He sucks he goes and we still have his entire ELC 3 years left

No harm done

I felt they should have kept Reinhart up in 2014-2015 for that very reason. The team was going nowhere (intentionally), and he was too good for his Junior team. He might as well take his lumps at the NHL level, even if he was behind the curve.

idk, he was very much #NOTREADY

He was getting lit up a ton

. and wait you said Myers winning rookie of the year was the worst ever 😮
- gerbe75pts

what the hell are you talking about

he was a spark plug for the team that year

the fact he did not improve had nothing to do with playing with the big club his rookie season

and if he has 6 or 7 points after 9 games, and is one of our 6 best players up front, he should stick

only a dumba$$ would say he has to be sent down w/o seeing him in training camp and the 9 game window he is allowed to play

I don't dispute that. Sometimes just struggling through it is the best way to learn, though. The Sabres were in a position where they could afford to let that happen. They weren't getting any worse with him being there.

It happened to Sam b , Curtis Lazar , gus those players who knows what kind of players they could’ve been if they were properly developed and handled correctly instead they became checking role players right ?
- gerbe75pts

I think you've been playing too much playstation, if you think something that happened 8 years ago effects the player Zegmus is today. Nothing they do with Cozens this year ruins him long term.

did not have the work ethic to play in the nhl

Which is hard to do with a bum hand.

This is why I see him getting 9 games and ultimately being sent back.

wikipedia and numerous hockey sites and the back of every eichel hockey card disagrees with you

so if this is a deep draft, and cozens would go second or third in a typical draft, what does the "gerbe" logic say

scratch that I would rather mow my yard then get into a fantasy debate with you about men

Just don’t compare him to Joe Thornton’s rookie year because every 1st overall pick is 100% ready.

Signed Brian Lawton.

Cole can easily just plot himself on the side and get pass on the power play and be the goal specialist ..

Should he ? No but The Canadians might do something like that

- gerbe75pts

Should the Canadians keep up a 30 goal player.. No? Ok, your logic is flawed AF, not that that really needed to be said. I've seen no one say give him a shot no matter what, which is what you're suggesting. If he earns it, he'll stay. If not, see ya soon ala Skunk.

I also don't get how you feel about Cole. He can easily slot himself on the side, and play the game, but be a pp specialist.. but he'll score 30.. but shouldn't be there..
