How about Vinnie Hinistroza as a trade idea? - jcragcrumple
Depends on price, but he had a great year last year. Perhaps he figured it out. He's a late round guy if I remember rightly, but fell because of his height. I wouldn't mind bringing him over for a prospect and a pick. |

It's no different than burying him in the minors (other than the freed-up AHL roster spot). You're paying him to play somewhere other than the NHL, and getting $1 million in cap relief. - buffalofan19
So he would have to agree or walk? I see him going back to Russia before he agrees to this. He did that with St. Louis |

That situation was different. A KHL team offered to buy out his NHL contract. He wouldn't have a choice in the matter unless a team offered to do that again.

He's intriguing. They're in cap jail like us, so maybe a pick and a prospect gets it done.
My first inclination was Risto and Sheary for Hinistroza and Garland (Kaiser's guy)
It would solve our cap issues and log jam problems, while giving options at C/RW
But AZ cant take on anywhere near that amount of celery |

If you can manage to ditch 2F's and 1D, you can bring up Olofsson and sign Pominville.
But in order to do this, one of, at the very least, Sobotka or Hunwick's contracts must be completely removed. - TheSabresTaco

Yeah, that's the issue now. We need to move a bit of dead weight or Risto in order to keep adding. I doubt it's going to be a huge problem for us, but AZ might not be the partner for us for that reason exactly. |

All need to be in the Minors or Rochester. Let's get this team to the point where these guys are called up to replace poor performers or injuries. If we do this right, we have the best AHL team hands down - lulags
You're missing the point of the post. You literally can't call them up when you have injuries. |

There is no limit to roster size in the AHL. |

Semantics. The same reason that he loaned Moulson to Ontario is that he didn't want to take away on-ice spots from younger players in the system. It's the same case here. Otherwise, he would have buried Moulson in Rochester as well. While he would still be compliant, it wouldn't benefit development. |

If you're right, can I have the lottery numbers?
I am not trying to be, or come across as, a jerk.
If Botterill will buy out a player after explicitly downplaying the idea, then you would have to assume that there is an interesting move coming behind it. - thatsapickle
The point of my original post to was that it is 95% certain that the Option of a Buyout will not exist at the time a trade is made.
- Buyout window closes for the season in say 48 or 7w hrs (too lazy to look up specifics)
- Trade LIKELY comes after Bouyout Window closes
The pisters original comment led me to the understanding he/she was not aware.
So the original point of save the buyout until if and only if it is needed based on a trade having then been made ... well, it will be too late.
Hence, IF Botts exercises a Buyout, given his stance as you mentioned of being generally against them...well it MAY signal something forth coming.
No crystal ball.
Common Sense. |

Why not have the spider bite him and Okposo on a team bonding trip. A lot cheaper than purchasing another team.
I’m offended you didn’t think of this |

Vesey replaces pominville
Mojo pushes Sobotka to the press box. Once there's an injury, he's in. Sobotka will play 50+ games this year. I'd bet on it
If he's at camp, he'll be on the team. Coaches will always side with a veteran defensive forward when given a chance - jcragcrumple
Unpopular opinion....
(And one that you’ll really hate)
Sobatka-Larsson-Girgs
could be a really decent defensive line4
They won’t score at all
But they can play the tough zone starts to keep the Eichel line & the Mittelstadt line focused on offense |
