According to the guys on tsn he is finished, he is no longer nhl capable. Ferraro quote "I've never seen a player so disengaged as LE." Remember how many canucks games he watches, usually from ice level.
Basically it seems there is no hope for him ever being a useful player

- SMBDragon

He isn't that bad, he is just not a 6 mIllion a yea player, more like a 1 million $ player.

LE's going to make the team out of camp.

He’s still a better hockey player than Motter, Schalsey, Virts, Goldy, and others. He will be playing in Van this year

Well if there's ever a time to give a guy a chance, it's certainly leading up to and including training camp.

Unless you have some hot trade for the hot trash.

A chance? He's had 3 years to prove himself and done zero

I don’t think he is, but I agree that he will probably be playing on the Canucks

He's going to training camp and you are going to pay the guy and his cap hit will be around $6M +/- a couple hundred K depending on his replacement.

Are you so horny to replace the guy that you won't give him a chance? There's literally nothing to lose aside from some development from a younger player.

As I said trade him if there's a deal that makes sense but if the replacement player is worse than what's the point of being in a rush to lose on a deal. His value can only grow.

It wasnt my comment it was ferraros.
But the other guys on tsn trashed him pretty thoroughly too. They said outright he's not an nhl player anymore. They were ex players saying this. I'd trust their opinions, which were strongly expressed.
McLennan had some colorful words for him. It's on YouTube

I don't think he will.

He doesn't want to be here and they don't want him here. Elliot Freidman has reported that he has been told he has to accept a trade or he will be playing in Utica.

I personally think too much has been said by him and there is no way he returns.

Again with the "give him a chance"....He's had 3 years and done zip

AGAIN,it wasn't my comment it was the ex players on tsn. They were convinced he's done as a player. Hope you caught it this time that I'm reporting their comments

Plus he sold his van home and moved to Dallas.
If the reports are true that he's not taking jbs calls then it's doubtful he's here next year

I really don't care what he does. Canucks roster is pretty well set . They have the spots pretty well figured out and he is very unlikely to be taking one of the spots.

Maybe the rusty sword has to take a new approach.

I think it's pretty closed minded to have roster spots set before training camp.

I think it is pretty stupid to sign players and not have a good idea where you want them to play

What did he say? We don’t agree 100%? What player agrees 100% with a coach, none. Totally blown out of proportion IMO. He will be back and we will love it.

I agree with the sentiment, although the risk would be the potential losses that occur because he's taking a top 6 spot away from a Baertschi or Pearson.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's back but expect Benning will move him if he can.

In a vacuum, he didn't have a terrible year last year. 30 pts playing bottom 6 minutes is above average. He was 6th for pts/60 at 5v5 sandwiched between Horvat and Baertschi.

I'd rather look at it as the spots you want them to compete for.

And I demonstrated how Benning has been above average with his 2nd round picks and I think we can all agree he has sucked ass with his trades. So I stand by my initial statement, which was he should have made his own selections, plus those he acquired and the team would be better off today than it is.
- 1970vintage

If you are waiting for prospects to develop still, I don't see how the team would be better today. They would have even less NHL talent. I don't know how that makes the team better.

They could use the full amount of sending him to the minors over someone who doesn't make as much.

Sam Gagner had pretty much the exact same year statically and was sent to Utica.

I dont think you got the part about pts/60 5v5.

Gagner put up more of his points on the PP and played more minutes. That said I thought burying him in the AHL was a dumb move.
