You don't really know that. Shatty only signing for a mil could mean he's OK with third pair minutes. Cal Foote could be the guy who's screwed though - 2sticks1puck
now it's probably to prove that he can still in fact play at a high level. He said it himself that he has overcome the stigma of a surgically repaired knee to deal with. |

Yeah, zibanajzjaizjd as 1C is tough to look past. Bright future, but this is not a playoff team - WJDiedrich
Most people dont think they are. Zib is also is decent low end 1C. They need another top 6 center tho to really contend |

Actually splurging on Center ICe so I can watch the games. I've always watched all the national games, and dabbled in the whole free sport stream scene at 1 time, but I've never had a chance to watch the whole season. I'm just that excited about the team I think it's worth every penny this year. |

I think Zib can be better than that. I'm not going to totally drink the kool-aid and say he is a top center in the league, but Zib has shown steady improvement and was a 70 pt guy last year. If he keeps that up, that's more middle of the road 1C at worst. To me way more potential there than Stepan or even Brassard's best. |

I mean, if it works out and he ends up regularly playing with Panarin and Kakko the next few years, the sky is the limit |

lets let our high end draft pick and high end free agent gel and form chemistry it's the only path to success and if they can do that with our top center even better. |

The most exciting thing about this team is I can ask "which one?" and it be a legitimate question. If just one of Kakko or Kravstov develops as expected, it'll still be a pretty good foundation. If both become stars, we really could have something special brewing. |

I disagree man, prospect tourney, camp, and preseason are actually going to be worth while this year. Plenty to talk about as we watch guys develop. |

Seems like the Ducks probably shouldn't have traded away all those RHD |

Ducks are low key one of the worst run teams in the league. I realize Perry and Getzlaf fell of a cliff, but how did that ruin that bright future? Gibson is only 26 and the way they are leaving him out to dry, he might as well be 36 |

They do have some good young talent that's just cracking or just about to crack the big league roster, but yeah....some of the stuff they do is a little odd to me. |

For fun let's say the Rangers find themselves in 1 of the 2 wildcard spots come trade deadline time. Kreider is matching his pace from last year. Strome's shooting pct. is down a bit but he is still very close to his NY pace rather than Edmonton...
Does Gorton run with it and see what happens in the playoffs or does he move Kreider, Strome, and Namestnikov (and with a lot of luck Smith) out at the deadline? |

I think he'd move Kreider no matter what at the deadline if he hasn't signed an extension, absolutely |

I think you almost have to run with it. I know the prudent thing would be to still sell, but this is NY. No way they would sell given those circumstances. As Jim first said too, we gotta win while our prospects are making pennies. We won't be contenders next year, but a trip to the playoffs could be a building block for 20-21 |

nice write-up Jan, amazing how eager we all are for the season to start. I myself, think we could see Howden or Strome Centering that 2nd line, to start. It'll be interesting to see how Chytill, Andersson and Howden have progressed this off season. I think that's what I'm looking forward to most. I wanna see some big progress in their development. |

I think the pressure will be off those guys because of all the new additions
I am very excited about what Chytil can do, he showed some glimpses of some serious skill level at times last season |
