I thought when it was Versus you basically couldn't find it in any hotel.

Yeah the VS days was a bit tough to find in hotels. NBCSN is still a secondary channel, but I've seen it in plenty (not all) hotels.

If you're home with your spectrum subscription, it's a relatively basic channel to own.

But let's be honest. Did you even WANT to find VS?

Unpopular opinion. The NBC broadcasts are slick, smooth, and really well presented. Doc is a legend calling games.

The MSG broadcasts are basically awful. Rob Ray is a joke, Dunleavy is an uninformed homer, and RJ is beyond washed up. The only one who is any good at all is Biron. Also, the colour and picture quality isn't even as good.

I'm guessing no one here watches Centre Ice, because MSG is consistently one of the worst broadcasts you can watch.

The intermissions are nothing special. But they call the game really well.

Dunleavy doesn't even know the other players on the other teams. But then that's probably perfect for half his viewership I guess. It's more of a buffalo broadcast than a professional hockey broadcast.

I remember reading somewhere (maybe here on Hockeybuzz???) about a guy who was furious when Versus was Outdoor Life Network.

Apparently the guy was watching hockey with his young son. Game ended, guy got up to get a beer or whatever, comes back and it's some hunting show, and his kid is bawling his eyes out because some guy has just killed a deer and is gutting it.

Good times.

NBCSN is VS is OLN. pretty sad that that's the best the nhl could do. Thanks a lot bettman. Let's have another lost season under his watch.... hhof worthy for sure. Such a joke. Maybe the next TV contract will be palatable.
