Bet you 12 sierras they go with Gore Shady and Singletary

I'd be flabbergasted if Gore retired this season if not due to catastrophic injury

Profound statement for a 22 year old.

The future is too far away from the present if we keep focusing on draft capital every year

- Boss34

I just turned 24, and I never said to exclusively focus on draft capital. If the best return consists of prospects and picks though for Risto I’d rather that then a average NHLer.

Where do you draw the line? Bears certainly aren't defenseless. Did you ever see The Edge?! But seriously, polar bears hunt people for sport. I've seen a regular sized doe front kick in a steel door of the side of a garage before, pierced right through the steel skin on it. Those hooves will (frank) your poop up. And you don't have a hope in hell of outrunning them. They are also very aggressive in the spring and fall, protecting their fawns and trying to get laid, respectively.

The whole reason for hunting seasons, in the US at least, is for conservation. Herds need to be culled, so they hand out a certain amount of tags a year to keep the populations in check.

The police have to cull herds in places you can't hunt because the numbers get out of hand.

https://www.newyorkupstat...state_ny_communities.html

And for the record, I've been hunting once in my life and I shot a turkey. I'm far from an avid hunter, but it is a necessity in some places.

And unless you're a super vegan, you tacitly support your so called "murder". And those animals are treated like poop their whole lives. What about that?

- Wetbandit1

Sure, all that stuff has validity
But you know that’s not what I’m talking about

The average hunger is hunting for “sport”
Not to cull herds, not to defend himself from bears, etc etc etc

They kill things bc it makes them feel good for some reason

I think that’s pretty messed up

Perhaps the greatest, and certainly the most influential American conservationist of the 20th century was Teddy Roosevelt, an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

It is possible to both enjoy the sport of hunting and respect the animal.

I say this as a non-hunter

Please don’t bully or be a Ahole to hunters... this coming from a non hunter. If a man/woman wants to wake up early cover themselves up in deer pee and get away from the stresses of the world and fill their tags good for them as long as they do it legally.

Oh for (frank) sakes Fitz.

Dylan Cozens will be Brandon Dubinsky if he's lucky>Hunting to feed your family means you're stoking your fragile ego and compensating for your small pecker.

Christ.

- TheSabresTaco

Huh???
I never said anything like that

Also...
very, very few ppl actually hunt to feed their families
Those aren’t the ppl I’m talking about
Thought that was pretty clear

Dude, everyone hunter that I know eats what they kill. I know of none that are running around just wantonly killing animals and leaving them to rot. They are responsible hunters and have a great respect for wild creatures. You are way off base with your statements, and I'm saying this as one who has never once hunted an animal.

Speaking as a casual hunter, you are correct. Venison is a prize.

Thank you. My family ate venison 3 days a week growing up on a good year. Trout, bluegills, crappie and walleye 3 more nights of the week.

I think it's fair to think he took the best deal available at their deadline. It's possible he waited too long, but there's no reason to think he was getting blown away with offers and botched things.
- Lunaion

I remember Botts saying something like the St Louis deal was the one legitimate offer. Yeah ... in his mind.

I also remember reading some blurb (was it here ?) where there was a rumor of an offer from the Habs that included promising prospect Ryan Poehling, who happened to score a hat trick in his Montreal debut.

He probably doesn't even understand what all that money we spend on licenses goes towards. I eat what I kill. I only knew a couple guys that hunted the wrong way and i don't associate myself with them anymore.

I didn’t mean they don’t end up eating the deer meat
I meant they aren’t out there hunting bc they’re starving & that’s what they NEED to do to “feed their family”
