I would be interested in a blog describing the "Tampa Bay model" .
Also wondering why a rebuilding team like Ottawa doesn't just sign Connor or Konecny and then immediately trade them for draft picks. What a way to get free assets. Maybe Ottawa is still trying to do that with Brayden Point? - uofcguy

The word ''natch' is a combination of the words 'naturally' and 'match'. It is used for 'naturally match'... as in; the Flyers would natch the Offer Sheet.
It's really not rocket science here, guys. - ForeverFlyer16
Why not just say Naturally Match? Not everything needs to be abbreviated 😖 |

Please explain. You offer sheet a player and if accepted it costs you draft picks. And then you want to trade the same player for draft picks? So where are the free assets? I guess it would work if you got more picks pack then given? I’m old and don’t understand. |

I doubt people would bother throwing out a number at Konecny that Philly wouldn’t match.
What’s he gonna get? A 3y 12m sheet? Match. Next. Thanks for speeding up the process. |

I have zero insider info on this, but my guess is the Flyers wanna give Konecny a deal like Kapanen’s, but he wants around 4-4.25 per |

OFFER SHEETS DON’T HAPPEN BECAUSE ALL OF THE TEAMS ARE IN COLLUSION!!!
It’s not complicated...pretty fing obvious. |

Like some teams you tank or suck forever then win 1oa & 2oa & add some offer good draft picks later. |

Konecny no Connor easily. - Nighthawk
Konecny is a really strong up and coming young player, but he’s not on Connor’s level for sure. |

Actually guys like Conner and Konecny are the best guys to offersheet. These are the guys you over pay in an offersheet. You sign a guy like Konecny or Connor at 5+ years 5-7 mill AAV. Philly or WiPG might not match. |

Nobody’s giving Konecny 7. Even 5 would be a big stretch. Flyers might even match 5. I have no clue.
Connor id offer a sizable number if I had the cap room.
I suppose if you were a division rival and you had the space, you could offer Konecny 4.75 just to strap the Flyers because you know they’d cover it. And if they didn’t, well, he’s a nice addition. |

I'm not sure. But if you post the exact same article twice, you can certainly double your clicks. |

how does one "natch"? please use in a sentence. - HockeyCanadian
Natch; verb.
To cause or allow internet users to be duped repeatedly.
Ex. "The Hockey Buzz community was natched by all the RFA rumour blogs." |

Its an offersheet. You have to overpay to get a guy and Konecny is going to be a very skilled goal scorer. He can easily be a future 30+ goal guy, that alone is worth risking a 7 mill AAV long term offersheet. If I were a GM I would consider making that offer. |

Offersheets happen. One recently happened. The thing you dont realize is that teams are putting in offersheets. They just arent publicized because the player doesnt sign them. I have been hearing that Marner has received offers from multiple teams but has not signed any of them. Media is focused on the Canadian teams a lot more than the teams in the U.S we are not going to hear much unless it is big. |
