C'est long, crisse.

I can understand Europeans not being very enthusiastic about playing in the AHL. They make about the same amount of money, or even more, playing at home.

Also, he's 19. There is no rush.

I agree, but the AHL is a good transition for Europeans to get accustomed to the North American play. (Yes I know KK didn't go that way but he's a 1st rd pick).

Yeah, that's why I'm good with Caufield playing in the NCAA this year.

It's a grinding league. Plus, there are those AHLers for life there who want to break your dreams of making it to the NHL any way they can.

You know that he's 1 year removed from the Mestis? A league with zero NHL alumni who played a full season there...the SM-liiga and the AHL are really good moves for him.

I thought that was a junior league until recently...

I must say, with a population lower than the province of Québec, I must say, the Finns developing so many good players is impressive. I think it should be good for Hockey Québec to take a look at how they are doing things over there.

Mestis is their "AHL" to "NHL." If you're in tier-2 Finland past 20 years old, you need to be one of the anomalies like Burrows being an ECHL guy to 30 goal man.

It is impressive. The distances of travel are so small though in comp. The Q and the QAAA span hundreds of KM's and make poop so hard on kids.

Nobody in the area around montreal cares about anything other than the habs so junior clubs have to play in remote towns to draw enough crowds to survive.

Canada through the CHL has some (frank)ed travel man. Doesn't matter where you are...other than the Nova Scotia junior league.
