my issue with him in Ottawa wasn't the overall totals, it was the consistency. the guy would put up a 4 pt game, then disappear for 8, then put up 5, then disappear for 6.....and so on and so forth |

did anyone actually prove that that was a thing?
like look at the points and show he was out of line with most average players.
also, I think a lot has to do with his being such an electric player long before he came to Ottawa and fans still expected him to be that...all the time..but he was old by then |

comparing some of the Leafs new players to the ones that they replace...they come out fine.
Ceci and NZ are pretty much the same, but Ceci looks a tad better. |

Which one was it that took a slash in the neutral zone and the guy took the puck down and scored while kovalev skated hunched over?
Coke kovalev? Probably thought his arm was going to fall off. |

Once upon a time I would have said Matthews for Captain.
Now I think Reilly deserves the C. Give the A's to Matthews, JT, and Hyman.
Regardless of who gets it, it's time to name someone Captain. It's been what, 3 years since Dion?
I've heard/seen talk of how last year this team didn't have an identity. I think a huge part of having identity is identifying who your leader is. It's time.
Besides, without a Captain who will take the Cup from Gary this year?
Edit: before anyone jumps on that last sentence let me clarify that I am only joking, I think the Leafs can contend for a Cup, not sure they can win it. |

1) I think Matthews is the franchise player. We drafted him 1st overall. He's the guy. Make him the guy.
2) The Leafs certainly can win it. There's nothing wrong with thinking they can. They're in the mix. |

Reilly or JT for captain. Can't have a kid who's whining about his linemates or one that holds out for his own contract as captain. |

I don't disagree that Matthews is the franchise player. He is a hell of a hockey player and my favourite Leaf.
That being said, I'm not sure that he has shown the leadership qualities that Reilly has, and Reilly has tenure on him.
Either way, if Matthews gets it Reilly gets an A, and vice-versa. |

There was Rangers Cup winning diving Kovalev who Mark Messier once said was their best player in practice. |
