If the Arizona Coyotes play the New York Islanders the Isles get a +3 for "true hockey base." But Arizona gets a +3 for "new billionaire owner momentum." The deciding factor is the Isles signed 2 PTOs in preseason while the Coyotes only signed 1 RFA. Therefore the "scare factor" wins out. Isles get a +2 SF while the Coyotes get a - 1 SF.

The Isles get credit for a win while the Coyotes are credited with an extra game played. Therefore the Coyotes will play 83 games. 41 home and 41 away plus one scary game played in a true hockey base. 5 points out of a playoff spot but still mathematically alive after 83 games.

You are forgetting the momentum and revenge factors. During the entire playoffs...if you won the previous game you get a +1 for momentum...But your opponent would get a +1 for revenge, because I guess they didn't like losing the previous game. So in every situation these would cancel each other out, but still one of the 13 important playoff factors!

Revenge factor is huge. Like if the Bruins play the Blues in a SCF rematch the Bruins get a +4 RF. But after the Bruins win game 1 then it's the Blues who get a +1 RF. The +4 comes from the Bruins plotting revenge for an entire year. Whereas the Blues only get a +1 RF because they plotted revenge during an off day pre game meal.

Years ago you were the least winning 'Original 6' franchise.

Still are. Congrats!

So I guess we made it through another Friday without big news. So far this summer...the only Friday activity was the Lucic trade. All other Fridays have been quiet. But it's a long summer.

Just like the Flyers. Carolina has no chance of making the playoffs. They are not a true hockey base.

I wonder, it will never happen but just imagine Lou (or any GM of any random team) submitted two offer sheets on two different players and both teams didn't match. Especially if the players offer sheeted are two high caliber players, how would that work out? 4 first rounders for each team? 8 years of first rounders? It would be crazy but will never happen!

Can't do that. If they were to offersheet two premium players such as Rantanen, Marner or Point over the 10.6m or whatever it is, they would need 4 of the next 5 first round picks (for only 1 of them). Therefore, only allowing them to choose one player not two.

If they offered lower than that though where you only cough up two 1sts, one 2nd and one 3rd than I'm not sure. Maybe its doable.

I should talk about "Momentum factor" too. When the Leafs eventually get Marner re-signed this will give the Leafs alot of momentum (+16 MF). We can expect the Leafs to go on a 16-0 run because of this.

But then comes the "letdown factor." This happens after a huge winning streak. So we can expect the Leafs to go 0-16 (-61 LF). When the Leafs play the Bruins in the first round of the playoffs for the third consecutive year, the Leafs will have a +3 RF (Revenge factor).

But the Bruins will have an advantage when it comes to overall RF because of their desperation to seek revenge on the Blues in a potential SCF rematch (+7 RF).

So unfortunately for Leafs Nation, they will not be advancing past the first round of the playoffs unless the Blues miss the playoffs. Now if the Blues make the playoffs but are eliminated before the Leafs/Bruins series is over then the Bruins RF goes down to a -2. Then the Leafs RF comes into play as DPSRF (Double playoff Series revenge factor.)

Leafs would be a +22 while the Bruins would be -22. However the Bruins would still win due to TPSMF (Triple playoff series momentum factor). Bruins would be a +2013 while the Leafs would be a -1967.

You also need to compesate for the Refs Paid off By Bruins Factor(RPOBBF). Divide that number by the first round choker differential and there’s your answer
