I wish that were true but there are people who do real damage. Trump reflects much of what is sick in American society but he also gives license to some of the ugliest parts and makes it much worse.

I do agree that liberals, particularly in the US, are mostly just nicer conservatives and accept and benefit from a very inequitable economic structure. They may want to improve the lot of those beneath them but not if it’s going to cost them anything. They are certainly far better than most conservatives who want to (frank) over those who have the least. These differences are far greater in the States than in Canada which is generally more liberal (socialist in the minds of American right wingers).

If the US doesn’t come to grips with its economic inequality we will start to see real upheaval and more right wing radicalism. It’s much easier to find the “other” to blame than undertake significant restructuring.

Yup. Anyone who has watched Sanchez could see that he was better than his numbers suggested and that finger problems were a big part of the reason for his fall from grace. So was playing on a terrible team and an idiot manager (this season).

It's unfortunate that the management team just wanted to get rid of every player associated with the old regimes playoff runs.

Going to games and paying insane amounts for beer, parking, food, tickets, merchandise etc or lining up for absurd amounts of time just to get a drink or take a piss, feels like something you did back in the day. I agree. I don't go to games very often. poops expensive.

But I understand why people like going. And sitting a guy, THE guy, on one of the four games all season that is stupidly more expensive, is like spitting in the face of everyone in attendance.

The Jays are a national team and people come from all over to watch them.
