As Maxbone mentioned, the presence of Ristolainen would mean that we need not hold our breath on Bouchard’s level of “readiness”.

I’d rather ice Ristolainen and keep Bouchard in the AHL next season. Then, should Bouchard show he’s ready, we could always move Ristolainen (with a year left on his contract) and call up Bouchard.

And if Ristolainen proves to be a good fit, then we could keep him (and his extra year) and move Larsson instead.

A mix. I don't think the results Ristolainen has had show him to be much different to Schultz before he was traded from Edmonton. He shouldn't command all that much in a trade and, if he does, you'd best be DAMN sure he's more than the 2nd pairing PP guy that he has shown to be.

I’d counter that a top 4 consisting of mobile, puck moving 2nd pairing defenders is not necessarily a bad thing, particularly if said defenders are capable of contributing on the PP.
