I just want to forget the days of hartnell pushing 3 or 4 players during a scrum with literally zero push back. Plays like boeser getting crossed check by Lewis into the boards and the only person who does a thing is edler, who gives a slight bump. Petey getting tangled with kotkaniemi and hutton coming over to do absolutely nothing. I want a team with a talented core, but who also has an identity that isnt that of being the softest team in the league. - Codes1087
Hardly the softest in the league but only a few teams WERE below us. |

Hardly the softest team in the league??
It's certainly debatable that the team has been one of the softest teams in the last few years. That alone needed to be addressed and changed. |

Marner at $13M plus a meddling dad is better than low maintenance Brock at $7M? Marner is better but not at almost double the cost and a headcase daddy.
I think Bobrovsky is better than Markstrom too, doesn’t mean I want Bob’s contract on this team. - Nucker101
True
Plus, Ceci and a 3rd for boeser and a 2nd is much more up Benning's alley |

We could always sign & trade Boeser for 5/11m to fit into your capology. |

Well he is no Kyle Dumbass. It takes a special GM to trade a first and a top 6 forward and still be three mil over the cap. |

Yes and perhaps explains why JB and Green have talked about forming a team identity and playing an aggressive attacking style. There have been many moves made since 2018 to increase the NHL quality talent with size, skill and grit plus good character.
Player that meet the above like: Benn, Miller, Ferland, Myers, added to Roussel, Pearson, Beagle, Leivo that had only Horvat, JV and BB to some extent. Plus soon: McEwen, Tryamkin and Podkolzin can be added to the roster with OJ and Woo upcoming too. EP and Gaudette are not on the small side either though could add more muscle to their frames.
It's quite the change from a team full of Sven and Goldys types. Now these guys might not even have a spot. If anything this team won't be push overs and will have push back physically and on the score board. |

I dont have a side. I have no bias and I have no interest in who has personal beef with who on this site. There isnt a poster her I dislike, I actually hate all of you equally . I'm here to talk hockey, canucks, and all things related man.
And to your last statement, I have a newborn, I dont remember what I had for lunch man, let alone what happened in here a year or two or three ago lol. - Codes1087
Strange reply. I only suggested where you could have a better impact with that lecture. Why does that idea get you so bouncy?

Ok i didn’t realize size & grit were accolades but I’ll wait a bit to see if it makes us harder to play against or not. - Nighthawk

They’re not. But you were referring to new additions. You made reference to players out vs players in.
Size and grit on paper yes but I’m not willing to give accolades for roster improvement until I see a game.
Does that clarify? |

I'm not a ref, and I am not looking at lecturing either "side". I'm simply stating how stupid this whole "team ____ vs team ____" is. I remember my little cousin was obsessed with the twilight books and movies when they first came out, and wore a team werewolf shirt around. Thats what this poop reminds me of. My point is, I dont care who has beef with who, there is so many personal squabbles on here lately it's hard to keep up. But for the sake of every other poster who isnt involved in "who hates who", and frankly doesnt give a poop about any of it, I'm hoping that this blog can move on to hockey/canuck related material again, and the ones who the hate is directed towards are the usual trolls of other teams who visit.
To add. We legitimately have the best blogger on this site. It's not even debatable. Her comment section being soiled by this back and forth garbage between individual posters is pretty disrespectful, just my opinion though. |

He's noting the changes and what they represent. Of course you can hold out on praise until its earned in games.
Though the conversation until then can turn to expectation. For example, one would expect that proven NHL players in their prime like Ferland and Miller would play with skill and grit. |

I agree, but that goes back to my original statement of impact will be determined on how many games they play. They can have a hard nose game but they haven’t played that way on a team with an injury record like the Canucks. It not a strange coincidence. |
