Good call.
I read some guy on Calgary Sportsnet radio said they are having trouble moving Brodie because of other teams cap issues - VANTEL
I’m not buying any theory that it’s hard to move a 30-45 point puck moving d man with a 4.6 cap hit ...but every fan base had their negative media coverage lol |

Maybe for freeing up cap space to sign Tkachuk and getting a fair return back? |

I agree but there is not a big list of teams ready to take other teams cap problems. We will see when it is resolved |

No talk about Chase Priskie as a potential signing? Could be another Rafferty type steal for us. |

Hockey, Football, Basketball players have too much power these days, it's out of control. Albeit a different sport Kawhi was a classic example in TO, these guys have the power to alter a franchise, recruit players from other teams who are under fuking contract, Bullsh!t. Owners need to take the power back. The NHL needs to fix things in the next CBA and have the foresight to see the crap other leagues are allowing to happen. - VanHockeyGuy
Don't think anything is close to being in the same league as the NBA when it comes to that. When you have 5 players on the court at one time, a superstar makes a huge impact, hence them altering franchises much more easily. They also sign shorter contracts, no? So more movement overall happening.
Don't really agree that they have "too much power". The market sort of dictates their worth, and that's on the GMs and owners too who sign those deals. I don't fully mind the players having some more leverage in their younger years, but the holding out is getting a bit ridiculous. I think the system needs to change to get them paid better when they're younger. |

I can't believe people can blame players for owners/GM's handing out stupid contracts.
I believe this is the first year that the players didn't agree to raise the cap escalator by a significant margin and thus forcing GM's to be more responsible.
The players (high end UFA's) lose out in this scenario but means that up to 15% of their salary won't be clawed back the following year. |

Yeah, the NBA is in a tier of it's own when it comes to player power. A couple of NBA superstar friends can just decide that they want to play together and it usually happens, either by free agency or trade.
LeBron has legit influence in who his GM signs and trades.
Kawhi Leonard's friend got hired as a highly paid assistant coach in Toronto, and now in LA.
Imagine the outrage if McDavid got one of his under qualified OHL buddies hired as an assistant coach in Edmonton. |

Lol, they couldn't do any worse, could they?
But ya, the NBA is sort of a joke with that now. I'm sure they'll look at some way of making changes to that, I'm just not sure how they can do anything. |

It is a very slim chance that it happens.
If it were my shot I would look at Boeser to Minny for Zucker Boldy and a third.
I personally don't think Boeser is worth 7 mil and I would rather have Zucker locked in at 5.5 for 4 years and wait for Boldy in two years along with V-Pod.
It could be a big chance for Minnys new GM to make a splash and get younger by bringing home the local boy.
Petey would cry but hey such is life. - VANTEL
Iff minny does that take it and freakin run
