Cap increase projections...
Currently 81.5m
2020 say it’s 83m
2021 maybe 85m
2022 new tv contract tops out at 90m or less
Using the above would you allocate the cap % spent by position or not? If yes then approximate your allocations.
The Leafs are an example of a lopsided cap.
Too extreme imo needing more balance. |

He just made a crack about people wanting better results by doing nothing and then states that contemplating a Boeser for Mariner trade is somehow treasonous.
Wouldn’t Mariner be the best player in that trade? I think it’s a waste of time discussing but if you could get Mariner to play with EP... that would be fun to watch. I would trade Boeser in a heartbeat for a talent like MM. - bloatedmosquito
Marner at $13M plus a meddling dad is better than low maintenance Brock at $7M? Marner is better but not at almost double the cost and a headcase daddy.
I think Bobrovsky is better than Markstrom too, doesn’t mean I want Bob’s contract on this team. |

All true, but it is an improvement on skill.
That’s been my point all along. No doubt JB is improving the skill level on the roster come opening night. But is the cost to do so justified?
To your point above, the cost to improve has its pitfalls. |

How’s your dad? - bloatedmosquito
(frank) off goof. I had it with your attacks on my family. No one is going to believe you are asking something innocent after your recent attacks on my father/family in the forums. Everyone saw you shooting your mouth off about my parents sticking needles in their arms and some insulting shots at him etc...
Funny how you lectured on here about not going after family members when people joke around but no one does it as often and as low and personal as you and not as a joke either... pure personal attacks....

Considering the point in time of our rebuild the iffy contracts are temporarily ignored. They are for another day when we truly turn the corner for real. Eg buyouts or traded for sake of moving cap. 2020 or 2021 are the seasons I’m expecting real high expectations & results |

I can think of an excellent place in the forums for you to make an impact with these lectures. Places where people set up base to keep long beefs alive and separate their clique from the rest of the fan base in the Canucks forums. A place where people run to troll from when their bashing routines get rejected by people more interested in discussing the Canucks rather than the "Benning is an idiot" broken record routine and having our opinions re-written for us after every "debate".
Be careful though. I tried your lectures in the past in there but it turned into a giant N4U conspiracy accusation. I'm sure you remember it quite well. You were there.

I dont have a side. I have no bias and I have no interest in who has personal beef with who on this site. There isnt a poster her I dislike, I actually hate all of you equally . I'm here to talk hockey, canucks, and all things related man.
And to your last statement, I have a newborn, I dont remember what I had for lunch man, let alone what happened in here a year or two or three ago lol. |

Depends on how many games they play and how well they play in those games. |

Gudbranson apparantly had "size and grit"
They gotta be able to play hockey too, which I truly believe all can. Toughness doesn't always equate success though in todays game. |

I think you’ve made similar references to ‘not counting chickens’. Just want to see some games played before handing out accolades. |

Pearson Gudbranson
Myers Hutton
Benn Pouliot
Miller Goldobin
Ferland Schaller/LE
I think it’s safe to say they replace those who did neither 😂 |

Ok i didn’t realize size & grit were accolades but I’ll wait a bit to see if it makes us harder to play against or not. |

I agree. If we look st the Stanley cup champs, those players are big and strong, but they can also all play hockey, and well. Gudbranson was one of the only bigger players on the canucks and he sucked. Adding height, grit, weight and players who can actually play hockey is crucial. |

I just want to forget the days of hartnell pushing 3 or 4 players during a scrum with literally zero push back. Plays like boeser getting crossed check by Lewis into the boards and the only person who does a thing is edler, who gives a slight bump. Petey getting tangled with kotkaniemi and hutton coming over to do absolutely nothing. I want a team with a talented core, but who also has an identity that isnt that of being the softest team in the league. |

Marginally at best. He is a average at absolute best defenseman in the league |
