when is the last time we had 6 wingers like that
throw e-rod and tage in the mix as well
tage was brought here to be that second line RW in time - homiedclown
There's one actual RW in there besides Botterill's surprise announcement that Sheary is now a RW. Tage is tage. I don't expect anything from him, let alone top-6 production.
Dump sheary, trade risto and assemble an actual top 6 with a real RW |

Keep him. He gets traded and he will ass-rape this team for a decade.
(10th time I’ve posted this since April) - Pairo11
Or, for the next decade the Sabres can ass-rape the team he plays for as he losses his D responsibility 7 times per shift, throws dump offs from his zone into the neutral zone where the opposition then locks them in the D zone for the next 45 seconds every shift, or he slings a pass into the skates of his forward who us exiting the zone causing yet another turn over.
But best of all, since the Sabres have no Russian players, Risto will take the night off from physical play.

I think if they were going to move risto for a RW, this would have happened before the nylander trade
the fact he moved his best rw prospect nylander, solidifies that I feel risto is safe and he is fine going with these wingers
if the rookie sticks, e-rod is in the mix
if tage plays like he did in rochester, he is in the mix |

I can't imagine that's true. He wears an "A" on his chest when Bogo is on his monthly IR visit and he just said he doesn't want to be here |

What do you call a bus full of lawyers going over a cliff with only 28 of 30 seats taken?
Same thing as however much ginger you're adding to that Crown.
A waste of perfectly good space. |

This would be true in most years, however the logjam of unsigned RFA's has slowed the trade market, especially for a team like The Peg. It may open up in Training Camp once a couple of these guys sign.
If Tage looks like he did for 75 games last season, he best not see Buffalo until the TDL at the earliest.
That kid needs alot of development time to rework his game. 6'5" 210lb wussy, plays like bambi. |

I wouldnt care, if he would put the biscuit in the basket every now and again, instead of scaring all the fans who sit on the end-glass. |

It is a possibility. A lot of people are clearly still salty about the ROR trade. Realistically if our option was to trade him and have him win the selke/stanley cup vs staying on our team and further losing his will to play...we made the right option.
Risto is a different case I feel. He has lived up to expectations in some areas and fell way below in several other. Most D-men in the league are not 40+ point guys, but as stated a few times points are not everything (ie mcdavid/draisaitl combining for over 200 pts and still sucking as an whole team). I can't see Risto flourishing into a top 2 defensemen somewhere else. He can however contribute in your 3/4 spot on a really good team. Housley's system was chaos. I dont care how good a d-man you are, if the system sucks then unless you are a generational talen..you will probably suck to.
I am still in the keep him camp with lowered minutes (what they talked about doing last year and never did) and see how he works in an actual functioning system. Unless a trace for a 2c/RW comes along we cannot pass up I am really okay with how our D looks. |

This is kind of the opposite of that. He's been here and wants to leave.
If he's not 100% on board, then he should be gone. We've all sat through too many games where they quit. Do you trust him to rally the team and turn it around when they're on a 3 game losing streak, or is he going to pout and demand a trade?
I've been a huge risto defender for his entire career, but if he wants out, JB needs to show him the door. (frank) that. Get on board, or get out. We have options at RD. We don't need a malcontent |

I couldn’t agree more about Housley’s (and other coaches) systems haven’t worked. I also like fewer minutes for him. Ralph is key. I’m hopeful. Again. |

Based on the fact he's still here he doesn't seem to have a ton of value anyway just trade him to the Jets for Perreault, Roslovic, and a 3rd and be done with it
Skinner-Eichel-Roslovic
Olofsson-Perreault-Reinhart
Johansson-Mittelstadt-Vesey
Sheary-Larsson-Okposo
Dahlin-Miller
Pilut-Montour
