I agree with you (not about the constant whining), they tried to trade Galvis, but there was no market for him. - PatC80
I find it surprising that San Francisco and Milwaukee couldn't find a reason to pick up Galvis. At $4m with a 1.6 WAR, he's a better option than Arcia (-0.1 WAR) or Crawford ($15.2m, 0.1 WAR). If nothing else, he's insurance, and would have cost nothing more than mid-tier prospect.
The second thing I note when I think about Galvis is that he had a team option for $5.5m. Given the salary flexibility the Jays have, he could be our insurance if the kids falter, need more AAA time,or guidance.

Galvis has put up decent numbers with the Jays, I thought a team that was pushing for a wildcard spot might make a trade for him, but no biggie..
If the kids need more guidance, they can ask their parents.

without looking, maybe opportunity?

I'm also assuming that when #Bluejays signed Galvis as a free agent this past winter, he signed knowing that Biggio and Bichette were coming, and a promise was likely made to him that they'd get him to a place he could play everyday when that time came.
maybe better to treat a player well (who has little to no value) and maybe you get some goodwill down the road. who knows.
but its another opportunity to laugh a the Jays (warranted or not)

Maybe? I don't know. Just doing a quick glance - his playing time doesn't seem to have suffered. He played 25 games in July, and started 10 of 11 games in August. He was being used regularly.

Yeah. It's not like he had significant value. If they were seriously shopping him at the TDL and had no offers, then it is what it is.
I think from most fans perspective, the approach they are taking is the correct one. Build the farm, develop the prospects - build from within, and supplement from outside when you need to. l think what most of us are frustrated with is that their value in acquisitions is far lower than most people (in and out of the industry) expect. So when something like this happens it just seems like another throw your arms in the air moment, yelling "Shatkins!" into the empty sky, frightening the birds, and shaking the ground.
