He is no more a "bust" then Morin IMO. He hasn't been handled well... up and down the line-up, up and down from the AHL. I would be willing to take a waiver on him for a season or 2.
- youarewrong

Morin has been injured and the victim of a numbers game. Puljujarvi hasn't been able to lock down a constant NHL roster spot on a bad Oilers team.

I think he's one more bad season away from the Finnish Grigorenko.

Who? Was he a safety the Eagles took late in the draft a few years ago?

*Durability: Giroux has played in every game each of the last three seasons. He's dressed in every possible game in seven of the last 10 seasons, and missed no more than one game in eight seasons. (Note: this figure includes dressing in all 48 games during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season). He's never missed more than five (a concussion in 2011-12 after a collision with teammate Wayne Simmonds caused by Simmonds trying to hurdle his teammate and accidentally making head contact with his knee)

Way to go Bill, you probably just jinxed it

Considering the fact that the Flyers dressed six goalies last season, goalie depth for the alumni shouldn't be a problem in five or so years.
- KGBflyers10

8 goalies.

The NHL fanbase and commentators has made that VERY well known.

Ha ha. Point taken about the average philly sports fan. Maybe I should have said unappreciated by hockey fans in philly? Seems to be unappreciated by the NHL in general to me.

Shouldn't separate them. Voracek simply has to shoot more. That simple.
- MJL

Yes, Voracek needs to shoot more. That said, it would be nice for everyone to accept that Giroux is the sniper. He should be the one set up to shoot the puck more than the other players on the 1st PP unit. IMO, that is.

I don't disagree. My point was that, if players are cheating to Ghost and Giroux, Voracek shooting (and scoring) more often would keep the PK more honest.

It was then that I decided that the only way out was to just take a gigantic dump on the floor. After that, it started to get weird.

It's stupidity to be honest, he's a playmaker not a shooter, for him to change his mentality this stage in his career is not happening. According to those stats Feanor posted, he is doing just fine.
- ClaudeFather

It’s not stupid to ask Jake to shoot more. I would argue that Giroux has adjusted and started shooting more, which led to his first 30 goal season, two seasons ago. In fact, when Giroux and Voracek were regular linemates, I felt like G adjusted to Jake by becoming the shooter.

I would like to see more of a cycle down low on the PP if possible.

Depends on the size of the game. Joe Watson manages the roster for the local barnstorming charity fundraisers. Brad Marsh manages the big games with the more prominent names who travel to play in those.

Joe is a stickler for commitment. Doesn't like guys popping in and popping out. He manages it like a team.

Goalie is always the toughest position to find an available Alum.

Could they move the PP to operate more from Jakes side, freeing up G a little more to one time, putting more space between G and Ghost. I dont think they could but I do think with G and Ghost operation from the left most often it helps the D shut down the lanes to the net

You're advocating that the Flyers trade for Puljujarvi and pencil him in on the 3rd line. What evidence do you have that he has been mishandled? Puljujarivi is not worth Haag or Morin. You're also not considering that you want to place a young player who has a questionable work ethic and desire to play and place him on the 3rd line with Patrick who is also struggling to breakout, albeit for different reasons. Not a smart idea in my opinion. Puljujarvi is short step from being out of the league. Hard pass.

It is borderline stupid to think a 30 something year old jake voracek is all of a sudden going to start shooting more. The giroux thing is just as dumb, he had 102 points of course he had more goals, when he had 93 back in 2014 or whenever he had 28 goals, was that a commitment to shooting or did he just score more? Shooting percentage when he had 34 goals, 17%, there ya go, take a hike.

I know you say this because you don't really care for Hagg or Morin....but Puljujarvi is just that bad too.

That being said, I would do a Hagg for Puljujarvi deal in a heartbeat.

I still think Morin is going to be a player in this league.

Well your half wrong. Hägg yes a dime a dozen bottom pair dman u can find anytime. I don’t dislike morin at all. Not even sure where that comes from.

The upside of pool party would absolutely be worth either of the 2. Even if he never hits it still make that move all day. Unless there is stuff out there only teams know about

It is called taking a chance on a guy that was selected 3rd overall that needs a fresh start, what is wrong with that. Something happened in Edmonton and the relationship has soured it happens sometimes. Currently most here believe Hagg is the 7th defenseman. So a 7th defenseman and maybe a pick for a third overall pick is not that much of a stretch to me.

No, it’s not stupid

It’s not like Jake Voracek is physically unable to shoot more. It’s not like shooting the puck is this difficult thing to do. It doesn’t matter how old Jake is. Learning a new coaching system can be tough. Playing on the off wing can be tough. Shooting the puck more is about as basic as it gets.

Jake Voracek is a Right Winger, who shoots left and has all the talent in the world. One timers should be second nature to him. He should be a freakin 30 goal scorer but instead he has a disappointing 20 goals per season.

Jake is a very frustrating player to watch.

yes and no, Jake has had great success and he has done certain things to get that success. His natural response to game situations will not be easy to change.
