Does anyone think the lack of ice time Babs gave AM34 last year in the Bruins series was personal or do you think theres still a shoulder thing lingering??

As I see it, it has to be one or the other. Why else would he get so little ice time in the 3rd of game 7??

Roeper is the right person to answer this question. Personally I think Matthews was out of gas to warrant more ice time but Leaf fans would know more than I do about this. No sarcasm meant here. He looked like he was sucking on fumes. I do believe Matthews should've played more in the third period but maybe he couldn't.

I don't like it. Tim Murray will have to sweeten the pot.

Baptiste was just on The Fan 590. He was ELATED. He said its always been his dream to be a Leaf. You guys can pencil him in for 30g easily playing with those centers.

Hes not that far off matthews imo.
Just doesnt have the size, bad shoulder, and scoring touch yet.

He needs to start producing a (frank) ton more even strength and goal scoring to be close to Matthews.

From what I've heard/read, Babs limited Matthews ice time because he accidentally rode his Vespa over the tail of Mike Babcock's cat, which apparently really hurt the cat.

The only player I'd take over Matthews is McDavid.

Dubas likely has a plan A, B, C and D. A is to sign Marner to a team friendly contract. B is to try and trade him for a very good return. C is to try and convince a team to sign him to an offer sheet and take the 4 first round picks. D is to let him sit the entire season.

mitc marne deal more becoming more likely as soon as friday. possibly on a long or short term team friendly deal. rfa domino's could fall in a weekend of bedlam. if marne is not willing to sign on duba's terms, this could drag on. also hearing twoo legit trade offers are on the table including some very surprising players. one team in the east or west. the other could be in the western conference, but not certain and i am looking into. teams have given a drop dead aug 31 deadline on the offers. one nhl executive i spoke to last night said there are still a couple of teams that are looking at killer offer sheets starting in the teen's of millions or less. I am also hearing (ee3.3) the leafs are looking to shore up the team's most important position, backup goalie. keep your eye on the rangers and King Hungry. Would be a great move for the leafs. source close to KIng Hank have said he has always wanted to be a leaf. don't discount influence from fellow great swedes sundin, salming and aki berg.

We are quite lucky that hes not injury prone. To have a degenerative condition so early in his career...like say...a shoulder....would be a hard thing to cope with..missing 20 games a year makes it hard to be a franchise player.
