You guys should keep whining that Marner is asking for money than you think he deserves though, you all are doing your best to enable that.

Rantanen in a Leafs sweater would not only be mentioned as an HOFer he'd actually be in the HOF at this point.

Rantanen " benefits a ton from playing with Nathan MacKinnon" but little Mitchie gets absolutely no benefit from playing next to 2 #1 overall picks because, you know, Toronto.

It is completely idiotic for someone to draft marner over eichel. Marner has played on better team has played against 2nd and 3rd lines because Mathews gets top defensive lines. Meanwhile eichel had 84 points on terrible team and his line was the only offensive threat. He also center and never had Tavares to carry his line. Only leaf biasis fan boy or someone looking for clicks would take marner over eichel.

that's just not true......marner plays with tavares on the top line, drawing the toughest defensive opponents, while Matthews is 2nd line.

i think marner and eichel are pretty close to even, i think drafting one or the other would be based on positional need, not one being better than the other.

Do you really believe what you just said. Marner is likely going back into junior for another year. This is when teams begin to worry that he cannot make the jump. I am telling you the reviews coming out of the USA WJC are not good on Marner. Nobody has panicked. But if goes back to junior you start to think that he is more Sam Gagner than Patrick Kane.
