Players want changes to escrow.....that could be a big sticking point. - Fakepartofme
yup.
i'm guessing the owners will want a lower revenue share and salary rollback to change escrow. |

Agreed but no way they move to a soft cap |

I'd trade Nylander in a heartbeat given the very weak effort he brought to the team most of last year. Marner is my favorite player to watch, but these contract games are getting old very fast. If he misses camp and pre-season, I think he becomes a risk to get injured. Could very easily be a repeat of Nylander's mistake. |

Lawman, are you around?
I think I answered my own question based on the heading, but how do you interpret the below for caphit? e.g. is the caphit for a 7-year unmatched offersheet aav/5 or is that calc only for draft pick compensation?
10.4 Draft Choice Compensation for Restricted Free Agents.
Any Club that is entitled to but does not exercise its Right of First Refusal pursuant to Section 10.3 shall be entitled to obtain Draft Choice Compensation from the New Club. The number and quality of draft choices due to the Prior Club shall be based on the average annual value of the compensation contained in the Principal Terms of the New Club's Offer Sheet (determined by dividing such compensation by the lesser of the number of years of the Offer Sheet or five), |

Total contract value divided by 5, only for determining compensation
So if they offer 100 million over 7 years, divide 100 million by 5 and that's the AAV that's used to calculate the draft pick compensation |

The secret is to stay humble. You'll pick up a lot more that way rather than pretending you know everything.
Also I hope you mean around Hockeybuzz because otherwise I am concerned for my countrymen. |

so hypothetically, marner could sign 10.0x7, 10.6x6 or 11.0x7 and it's all the same compensation.
so someone could get 11.0x7 of marner vs. 4 1sts. seems like close value.
all pie in the sky poop anywho. |

Who cares what Nylander thinks. Leafs caved on him at zero hour and got 7 goals. =no value. Marner is not McDavid, sorry. - parmen
So Bill Ny getting his agent to call Dubas at the 11th hour and take less money than he was reportedly asking for, is the Leafs caving?
Oh? |
