I think having 9+mil tied up in 2 useless Lou's for the next 3 years takes care of that.

That's exactly what happened to me when I moved from the east coast to the west coast. I'm healthier at 50 then I was at 30.

Then again, I smoke a hell of a lot more cannabis now then I did back then so maybe it's a moot point.

Why not remove free agency altogether & save most GM’s from themselves?

Totally agree. A fresh start is a new beginning to get all things in better order. I’ve been fortunate with my health & had a great metabolism for an unhealthy lifestyle. Time to stop taking it for granted. The ganja is only a demotivator that is all in the mind & something i will need to change.

From outsider standpoint and why Benning gets (and deserves) a lot of grief is the fact that he gave tbay an out. I bet you could practically hear the collective face palms from other GMs ... Jim Jim Jimmy . One of the elite run teams looked to be in a corner and finally have to give up one of their good younger players and Jimbo extended a lifeline to a team that certainly doesn't need one. This year's playoffs aside, they are and will be a force for long time.

Other GM's probably tried to get Miller and that took the trade price out of bargain basement.

Normally for a player like Miller a team would want a good player and/or top end prospect back. Which would leave the Canucks out of the trade. Like what happened with Barrie and the Avs.
