No mention of 22 year old Vorobyev who got two NHL call ups last season? - Feanor
Vorobyev is a decent player. Shame he couldn’t get his game up to par when the real season took off. Think everybody lost a lot of confidence in him after that. He was a dark horse coming into camp and he stole that spot. Think he gets lost in the shuffle of experienced vets being pulled in for competition and the rising new talent in the pipeline. |

Exactly.
I agree with Bill, that Pitlick and maybe also Gabriel (less enthusiastic about Andreoff) were brought in because they were expected to fill the 13/14 roster spots.
Farabee will play less than 10 NHL games so that his ELC can slide. He would have to be playing like a top 6 wing in camp to change that. Nope.
Frost will need a year in the AHL, and if he adapts well will get a call up to play WING. He will never be an NHL center.
If Rubtsov played a full season last year he would definitely be 4C. He will be given at least until December in the AHL to get back into the groove and see if he is fully over the injury.
Finally, the Flyers NEED to give Vorobyev every chance to make the team in camp, and SOMEBODY, maybe Thierrien or Lappy or John Riley needs to sit him down and tell him like it is - he has the talent to be an NHL center, he needs to decide if he wants it. Somebody needs to tell him he is MUCH better than Laughton, so go take the job. Because when he gets sent to Lehigh Valley, whether its the end of camp or like last year after making the team and flaming out, he definitely won't be back in Philly, and he probably will be headed to the KHL (if he's lucky). |

Ah August. The time of year where we argue tooth and nail over which washed up player is is better for a limited role on our team.
Let us not forget the names Shelley, Asham, Downie & Rosehill and the differences they made🙏 - hereticpride
Would love an Asham on this team. He was good while here |

Raffl needs to focus on Laughton they are a good pair together - goenzoy
Agreed, the 4th line could be its best in a long time. Depends what happens to that last top nine spot but things look like the Flyers could have a nice checking 4th line with some scoring upside. |

He is big and physical. I’ll give him that. Stewart is a really long shot to make this team or any team but he does have a shot - peesinwind
In complete agreement. Saying he’s not physical or tough or gritty is ridiculous. If anything, those were the only assets that made him useful in his final years in the nhl. |

No, we’re not all good. You spent all afternoon telling me how wrong I am but my eye test and stats support my argument. Now what? You suddenly have nothing? I thought I had nothing, no argument and your Evaluation was the overall right one. - SuperSchennBros
I am real good dawg
Your stats are crap. If that is your Version of a physical player god bless you. Your eye test supports your argument lol. You mean your you tube highlights. You don’t have nothing. All
You have is a misguided opinion.
Well my eye test supports my observations. I will make a you tube of his lowlights and show you he is invisible ore times than not
Where do you think Brian Boyle will sign? |

Raffl is as good as anyone on the roster to fill the 3RW slot. He should be playing 12+ minutes and any line with Laughton as center should not be on the ice more than 8-9 minutes a game. Every forward whose RelT GF% was lower than Laughton's over the past two seasons is gone. Every team at home drools and sends their scorers out when Laughton hits the ice. |

Yeah. The guy is a freight train. His is a tough dude for sure. He is going to have to show more then that at camp though to earn a spot in this team. But Fletcher has been bringing big physical vets here for a reason. Thus, he has a shot. I just don’t want him because he is physical. I want him because he can make this team better. Hoping someone shows that at camp. Why not Stewart if he comes in to earn that spot. Not the way he has played the last few years though. Needs to find some of that ability from earlier in his career. |

Raffl is a good utility player. I like him on the fourth line but he could earn that spot like anybody else.
Thought Laughton had a pretty good and consistent year last year as compared to his earlier years. Think he is coming on. End of last year he was pretty strong. The coaching staff this coming year is pretty high on him as a center. Though we will see.

Can’t argue with any of this. I do like The Germ. He plays the game right. The current staff loves him. They talk about him in a favorable light. Lots of dark horses in competition here. Should be good to watch it unfold |

Go watch some more you tube highlights. If only gms followed ur lead Chris Stewart would have been in the nhl last year. Instead they look at the whole body of work |

Most reclamation projects don’t work out. And this could be the very case for Stewart. He is a long shot. But the guy had some decent hands at one time and 30 is not over the hill. Think Bill mentioned a hand injury in a fight and when he returned lost some of that scoring touch. Sounds a little like my man Simmonds (add in the groined surgery). Not sure either is washed up though. Simmonds is a better project then Stewart for sure. A PTO is not a big commitment from the team. Just another guy looking for work. |

Haha. And we know how much you love NAK. I never followed Fletcher when he was at Minn so not sure what his tendencies are but a watched AV and he will put together the team that can best implement his systems. Should be fun to watch. |

Well, if the biggest debates is who can fill the 3rd line winger role, how much Hayes is getting over paid (maybe 600 or 700 thousand), or if Hart will be the man then I think the Flyers are in pretty good shape heading into training camp.
TK and Provey will get their contracts and we will be under the cap.
Better balance in the D with more experience and 8 deep on NHL talent
Strength down the middle
Just maybe...just maybe a franchise goalie in Hart.
An experienced coaching staff with a proven head coach.
I’m pretty excited for the season. |
