it will all work itself out as it usually does. They will find spots for whoever is good enough.
- daryl stanley

That’s the exact attitude I think they're settling on.

But I’m being impatient, I’ve been without hockey for months, I see a really solid and dynamic group of forwards in our near future, and I want excitement now, dammit.

I feel like Veruca Salt. Not the fleeting 90s band. The chick who wanted the chocolate factory goose.

Correct u missed the sarcasm

He is not an every day nhl player. When people put his name in any lineup I crack up. Bust of a 2nd rd pick

Even before they signed Hayes I believed Frost would be a wing at the NHL level. His speed is perfect for it.
- MBFlyerfan

I’m also hoping Morgan Frost makes the team in a top nine role.

Oddly I’m hoping Chris Stewart can grab a one year, fourth line role. It’s not about whet he uses to be, he’s not that player anymore (was he ever that player?) but Stewart is still a tough and gritty player. I feel like we’re missing this element right now.

What makes you think he is still tough and gritty?

I gave you an answer, the answer was, why shouldn’t I think Chris Stewart is tough and gritty? Being able to play physical and fight are the two things he’s been able to do well his entire career. He’s 31, why wouldn’t he be able to do these things anymore?

Oh man he’s 31. By your guys standard he’s completely finished just like niskanen and braun

When you say “you guys”, who are you talking about? In the case of Stewart, which clearly you’re having a hard time following, we’re not even talking about Stewart’s skill. We’re talking about physical ability, which I offered that the Flyers are currently missing.

3 fights his last year in the nhl. Real brawler.
His tough and grittiness is really a false narrative.

You love that word “narrative”, eh?

So in a league where fighting is being potentially taken out of the game or at minimum being limited, you think because Stewart ONLY had three fights in his last season in the NHL, he can’t fight anymore?

You do realize three fights would be a lot for a Flyers team that was probably the second last team to get into their first fight this past season, right? Nobody called Stewart a brawler or an enforcer. I’m stating he’s a physical player who can absolutely handle himself if he needs to.

Your argument is ridiculous. Seriously.

Well he really isn’t a physical player so that’s incorrect. He can on occasion sure.

Yet at 30 years old out of the nhl despite offering up those qualities you speaks of

Yeah my argument is ridiculous. Maybe he is a Low Risk high reward type

Yes, Stewart is a physical guy. You’re free to look up whatever he’s done since being out of the league. There are YouTube highlights, stats.

I don’t know what you’re trying to prove about a guy coming to training camp on a tryout.

Not too many guys want to tangle with Chris Stewart in a fight. I am skeptical if he's got enough game left to earn a spot, but he is a tough guy.

Disagree to an extent. He throws when he wants to; same with his physical play. Been very inconsistent in both areas. Not questioning whether he can fight.

What about a two way contract?

NHL minimum and 40% at AHL level

Still curious about D man this year.First time with solid balance between left and right shooting ones

Yes, you were questioning if he could fight! That was the basis of the argument you started.

Chris Stewart is a physical, tough player.

See my response above.
Argument ? Hardly.

Why hasn’t he been able to hold down a consistent nhl job the last few years ? Clearly being tough an physical, still young would be appealing to one of the teams no?

Stewart has been out of the NHL for a year, he has Fletcher connections and the fact that he's a bottom six forward allows him to be a competitive piece in training camp that Frost and Farabee have to battle with for a roster spot.

I don't see Stewart anything but that.

No freakin kidding! He’s here on a tryout.

I said I hope he can grab a spot because he’s tough and gritty. You took exception to this.

Any idea why no nhl team even invited him on a tryout last year? What’s your Opinion on that

What does it matter why he didn’t get a tryout last season, he has one with the Flyers this season. A year removed from the NHL.

Seriously. If you have a clear cut point, make it.
