Who's going to reprise the Mathis Olimb role?
- Beaver-Warrior

Kyle Beech never impressed anyone in camp
He did leave an impression with his fighting in camp scrimmages.

Aliu first camp or sometime very early on he was in press box wearing a pink suit about a couple sizes too small (he was injured).

Back then maybe he was envious of Big Buff nice car which be drove 55 on side streets. Tallon said he wanted to drive it. Maybe Aliu dreamed of buying a pink cadillac or liked Aretha Franklin LOL

I am curious how powerplay alignment might change. I am thinking that M Crawford is in command of the pp deployment. Perhaps Keith still receives some PP
Dach on Pp? Man in front of net. No more easily read [our] strategy by the opponents? Special teams can make a difference winning some games.

I've read a couple quotes from JC and the asst coaches that said they would like to not lean as heavy on PP1. I think they spread the wealth out a bit this year (especially adding a couple new guys that can sit in front of the net). I just pray that they don't allow that blueline patty cake with the puck, where it goes back and forth four times before someone can figure out what to do with it.

Keith can always shoot and hope he hits the net.

With all of those shinpads in front of him, he usually can't even SEE the net when he shoots.

Chicago's very seldmomly had a good or great power play even when they had more talent the power play was always a issue, just not as bad as the last couple of years.

They need to define each players role on the power play and your right stop the telegraphing of just passing the puck around with no real plan.

PP1 was great last year. The problem is that PP2 was rarely used and the PK was garbage. Like many others, I would much rather have a stellar PK and a struggling PP.

I do not want to lay blame for the lackustre powerolay on the players alone. Going back during Q''s entire tenure there just had not been enough natural goal scorers. Or big beefy forwards. Just the Breadman really albeit a brief stop Chicago will be in his career.

Then you have the.dmen - please - Keith is no quaterback. Seabrook nice shot that is baRichardy it offensuvely fir him.

So then you look at how plays run tbrough Kane. The same old script? Strategy wise with the tyoe of personnel we had a few coaches in charge of powerplay. I personally think sometimes those coaches were ignored. Therefore you have coaches who know what to do. But players incapable or not wanting to modify. Is this a problem you blane on the coach and GM.

Well yes it is. But the team won enough over the years and the Pp - sneered by opposition - never was too good.

So i pos4d the question about Colliton"s thoughts on the Pp structure. Or if you prefer, M Crawford. Both head coach and ast coach think alike on pp structure too ( that is, not only the defensive scheme).

Going forward all i can see is that Bowman has some gifted prospects soon filteting onto the NHL roster.

Dach obvioisly. I won't look at others at the forward position whom may get opportunity on the pk. Not sure we have top six forwards in the pipeline

But we have a lot of dmem prospects whom have more to offer offensively than Keith and Seabrook. It is almost comical those two are leaned on again. You know everyone doesn't want that. So perhaps. A lotbof players will get opportunity on the point. We do know at some point Boqvist Beaudin Mitchell offer a fresh look and ability or capability Keithvand Seabrook never really had.

Even Carlsson could debut. He posses a good shot and had powerplay markers with Rockford.

Until then its Gus and say your prayers.

Sure the pp1 was good for awhile and like you mentioned they didn't have a pp2 . But in general Chicago has had issues with the power play , it was often overlooked because of the stellar defense andm5 on 5 they could light up any team at my moment.

Seabrook is probably their only d man who has any type of booming shot , Keith isn't the same player he once was who was shifty on the backend and could get the d to scramble .

It will be interesting to see how the overall team sets it's final roster .
Hopefully they won't overload the top pp with toews, cat, strome and Kane
That seems unworkable in the long run.

I'd settle for them being in the top 5 pk wise

Agree that the passing back and forth between the same players doesn't amount to anything except shaving time off of their own PP. Passing is key on the PP as long as the passes are quick, crisp, varied (i.e. not predictable), and with a purpose.

One intended result of PP passes is to get the other team moving to create passing and shooting lanes as well as get the goalie moving to expose more of the net.

I'm not wholly opposed to the backdoor play that Sharp and DeBrincat execute well but that strategy is ineffective when the other team expects it because of robotic passing mixed with zero movement by the entire PP unit.

Game 7 OT against Vancouver - Toews with the puck to the left of Luongo, Sharp waiting for the pass in his spot.

I swear Luongo was in position to stop Sharp’s shot before Toews let go of the puck. Shot was right into the Orca whale logo.

Back around the early 2000's, I was at Northwestern University lakefront campus and a Lamborghini Murciélago (or something that looked like it) drove up and parked. Up went the scissor doors and the 2 smallish guys got out and walked around... obviously wanted to show off their/his toy to whomever was around. I was told by others later that they were Blackhawks players, but don't remember who it was (hard to follow them back in the elder Wirtz days). Anycase, must have been one of the better (i.e. wealthier) players as those cars go for 350k or more. Maybe someone knows who from the Hawks owned one of those cars...

I just turned it on, and thought "I wonder why they're replaying a random regular season game from 10 years ago?" Although Toews just scored on a sweet pass from Kaner!

Thanks for ruining it. I'm about 10 min behind put kids to bed. Hahahaha. I guess the game was an epic wild come back. Our goalie was Huet. Did he get hurt that year? Why was Niemi our #1 in playoffs

Because even though Huet was French his pads were clearly made in Switzerland.

Man he let in some ridiculously soft and weird goals...goals where you were like, "How on (frank)ing earth did that go in???".

Hawks in 10 let up so few SOG that many goalies would have succeeded with that team

Tyler, what do you think is the likely return on Gus? lets assume he is traded at the deadline and is having a solid season
- glennjpawlak22

Like Chunk said above... I think a productive Gus at the deadline gets you a 1st rounder + a 2nd tier prospect.

However, he ain't getting moved at the deadline if he's producing and the Hawks are even remotely in the playoff hunt.
