True, I get that it's a trade off, they want to keep their good players for the playoff run instead of hocking them when they have more value....but I gotta think they could have brought in more for those guys.

Bad things happen when GMs convince themselves they HAVE to do something. Chevy got taken to the cleaners by Gorten. Basically Trouba for their own first round pick they used to rent Kevin Hayes. Plus some guy named Pionk.

A few months ago Ross the Jets fan told me that every team in the league would be more than willing to give up alot for a 25 year old right shot 50 point dman.

I told him the time to trade Trouba was last summer or even the summer before when his trade value was at its highest. I warned him no team will give up a huge price for a pending RFA who's one year from being a UFA.

He'll likely come on here and spin it of course and be Chevy's apologist. But to get such little value for Trouba was embarrassing. I know he's not a true #1 dman, heck maybe not even a #2. But Pionk and your own 1st?

I still recall last summer hearing Chevy say "We need to get a blue chip dman similar to Trouba who's under 25 in return." Good Lord...
