Jake Gardiner was just on The Fan 590 saying how he always dreamed of Leaf fans liking him and saying how talented he is.

What the Ek is with these RFA’s? I feel like a GM has to bite the bullet for the good of the league, and refuse to play ball late in contract talks. “You turn down $6M wanting $8M? Well, no Christmas gift contract for you late November... enjoy missing a full season of your career.” Agents are likely MORE to blame than the player they represent. Maybe a flat-rate contract signing fee (for agents) implemented as part of the CBA would speed up this process instead of the percentage which encourages them to make their clients appear greedy.
