instead of trading Risto for a 2RW just make risto your 2RW.. problem solved - SabresFaninIndiana
It's actually not the worst idea. He could be nasty on the forecheck and should get 50 points (he gets 40 from defense, not much of a jump really). His mental breakdowns wouldn't cost nearly as much.
He probably would be as good as half the names he is mentioned being traded for. |

I would not be upset to see them try this for a game, if all our RHD are healthy:
Skinner - Dahlin - Risto
Mojo - Eichel - Rhino
VO - Erod - Vesey
Sheary - Girgs - Okposo - Bufsaints8

I bet he'd get 15 playing with Skinner and Eichel all year.
If he still played on the PP at the point I bet he'd have 60 points.
It'll never ever happen |

Hope risto would have more then 15 goals , especially with 25 minutes of playing time per game
Pommer had 16 in a limited role |

I think Pommer is going to be signed by the Sabres.
Even if he "cant keep up" and is "an old man "
Why take 16 goals out of the line up?
4th highest goal scorer. Limited role

Only way I see it happening is if reinhart gets a long term injury in december or January and they're in a playoff race. Then they bring back the old man |

I think if Risto gets traded and we take back 2-3 mill less salary, it could happen.
Otherwise there isn't room for him. I'd love to see him get 7 more goals though. |

I think they should have tanked for another year to stockpile more high-end talent. Their window opens in 2021 - jcragcrumple
Well if the NHL was a league where you could find an undrafted rookie who can come in and make the Pro Bowl/All-Star game in his first season, or find starters anywhere in the draft year one, we wouldn’t need to tank to find the high end talent. |

Very much doubt. - RhinoFan
Very well might have two All Pro passrushers in Von and Chubb on the same team with three corner backs who ranked in the top 15 corners last year according to PFF in Chris Harris Jr, Kareem Jackson, and Bryce Callahan. Couple that with the God Father at the controls and it has the recipe to be a Top 5 Defence. |

Training camp is going to be highly amusing. We have so many players vying for bottom 6 roles in the forward ranks and will be interesting to see how the defence shapes out.
Friedman mentioned the Sabres as a dark horse still for Gardiner too if we move Risto so take that FWIW.

I can see top 10, but 5 is pushing it for me. I'd have to look again, but I believe Broncos have one of the toughest schedules in the league. Have to play the Chiefs and Chargers twice obviously, that hurts.
They lack the depth that the Rams, Chargers, Bears and Vikings have.
I don't know. I just can't see them being top 5 given their schedule coupled with the potential for a lackluster offense. I think they'd need the perfect storm to get there. |

risto still a sabre
yeldon still a bill
did I miss anything? - homiedclown
As much as I think Yeldon could be a good 3rd down/passing down back for the Bills, with the emergence of Wade(unless he can be sent to the exempt squad without waivers) it's going to be tough to keep him. |

I imagine pommer would take close to league veteran minimum?
Okposo is the one contact that really needs to be moved (eventually)

Yeah, but why just sneak in the playoffs?
Isnt it better to suck until you're really a contender?
Or is that just hockey?
You also need a franchise centre, flacco isnt the short or long term answer. |

Pommer was useless last year. He did t hustle into corners or battled. He’s not even worth vet minimum. His “leadership” was BS. He just skated by and collected a paycheck

No, he cannot.
He has to clear waivers first, just like any other player.
- Powerslave[url] https://wgr550.radio.com/...an-wades-roster-situation [url]
Not if he takes the bonus 11th spot on the practice squad that is only available to the international pathway players. From that article:
"Wade can be signed to the Bills' practice squad as an 11th, roster-exempt player. If that happens, he is ineligible to be activated by the Bills for the the entire season, and also ineligible to sign with another team for the entire season"
They can also assign him as a regular player which would allow him to play this year, but would also expose him to waivers |
