Skates for sure.

And funny thing about helmets...if you talk to any concussion specialists...there really is barely a difference from a 60$ helmet to a 200$ helmet. Obviously the more expensive one will be more comfortable but it’s barely making it any safer.

Helmets protect you from serious injuries not concussions.

I just know this because a friend of mine went though PCS and after a year of going through specialist after specialist it’s what they all told him.

The really expensive ones just aren’t worth the price but companies are really taking advantage of the concussion scares.

I got a top of the line helmet + Oakley half-visor for $100 from a Leafs sale. It didn't have a number on it, so it had no value as a "collector's item."

The guy at the sale guessed it was used at the rookie camp.

I tried wearing a visor but I just can’t.

I just can’t trust beer leaguers with their shots it sticks.

I got hit from behind last season and ended up getting a concussion for 6 weeks. Maybe a better helmet would if protected me 🤷‍♀️ It was the first one I have ever gotten so who knows.

I always chuckle at parents who say they are doing it so that their kid can get a scholarship.

When you add up the fees, extra practice sessions, summer camps, hotels, endless terrible meals at Boston Pizza and East Side Mario's, etc., you'd be waaaaaaay better off (financially) not putting your kid in hockey, and instead just taking that money and putting it in an RESP.

The way we run hockey for kids in Canada is criminally insane.

But you aren't allowed to criticize, because hey, we win championships, and blah blah blah.

The ugly little secret that nobody wants to talk about is just how under-represented the GTHL is in the NHL.

You'd think with all the resources and time that kids in the GTHL invest, there would be a payoff at the NHL level. Nope. Statistically speaking, waaaaaaaay under-represented.

I have a tiny scar on my lower lip from a stick.

But to be honest, I kinda like it.

Shoulder pads from 1983...

My gloves are from when I was 16. I’m 30 now and my hands reek after hockey... I should really invest in new gloves.

I’ve never been a material guy.

As a kid my parents always took me on all the vacations, even the all inclusives. I always Cherish that.

I took a slap shot tip right between the eyes 2 years ago. Fortunately it hit my visor because I was looking down... it was the biggest holy poop moment I’ve had.

There’s always good deals to be had if you go the used route.

People are crazy with the amount of money they spend buying a new driver every year. Buy a 2 year old model for 1/4 of the price or less.

I took a Sean O’Donnell clapper off the head at a Bruins game. And I was in the front row! How does that even happen!

He was trying to clear the puck from behind his own net. It went along the top of the glass, but as you all know that glass becomes shorter so when it got to that point it’s force carries it right into the 1st row and off my beak

If you buy taylormade they are the biggest depreciating clubs because they make a new one every year. You can buy 1 year old for less then half the price within 9 months of it coming out.

Ping and titleist hold their value longer because they don’t make new ones as frequently.

But what if the new driver has the space technology infused into it that NASA has run out of funding to use??!!!!

The seats were two away from the bench so it could be tough to see so I already turned my head trying to pick it up in the neutral or offensive zone. I chose poorly

Could end up being a great signing.

On the other hand, I don't see how he has earned that.
