If people on here continue to spew bullpoop then they will get called out for it.

Why do people defend bullpoopers?

- bloatedmosquito

No wonder you are in so many arguments, guess you're just getting called out...

The only option, Pettersson is a great player but not anywhere near a leader, FFS he's a pretty boy with a pretty boy attitude.

Horvat is a man with proven leadership skills, and he will be the captain.

Talk to me in 3yrs.

Yup, exactly, in 3 years if Petey proves to be "the leader of men" then he'll be captain, I don't think that anyone would debate it.

Right now Horvat has proven he's the guy.

Boqvist will be a 3Rd pairing offensive dman at best. Similar to Juolevi
- CanuckDon

I'm higher on him now than when the draft went down. I meet you guys somewhere in the middle and predict him 2nd pairing and 1st pp.

I was in seats behind the net for that goal. If you watch the clip, you can probably hear my chin hit the floor in the silent building.

lol I was a party with some fellow Canuck fans and I don't know how to describe it but after that goal went in you just knew they were going to lose that series.

Thats exactly how I feel. EP has the makings of a leader. Right now it's Horvat.

To me EP just needs a little time to learn the professional side of the game. He knows it as well. He's asked to step back from the media. See, smart kid and a mature request.

Has Pettersson ever worn a letter? Does he even want to be captain?

Maybe an A but I failed to see a C on him at any point in the couple of years before his rookie season in Van.

More from Jim Benning, who got pretty specific about what we can expect to see in terms of player deployment from the Canucks next season during his visit to TSN1040 on Thursday:

Bouchard
Boqvist
Hughes
Dobson

- belcherbd

I’m sure any Hawks fan would happily swap Boqvist for Dobson. Ask an islanders fan if they would do the same

BB looking at 4 years X 7 - seems reasonable.
- canucksfan1944

4 years is great. Obviously 3 is better but that ain’t happening. 4*6.5

in 4 years they'll have to pay the next ridiculous RFA value.
- belcherbd

He ain’t worth a 6 or 7 year commitment and 5 years is obviously off the table

If it’s 4 years then he can just take his 1 year qualifying offer after that and bend the Canucks over as a pending UFA if he wants to

I like that JB is holding out on the desired 4 year deal desired by Boeser. His agent wants that because it's completely in Boeser's favor. At $7m it should be no less than 6 years as well. 4 years at 6 would be more reasonable for the Canucks.

either do the bridge for 2-3 years or go for the 7-8 years

If I'm his agent, I'm definitely sticking to that 4-6 year range though, that's going to put Brock in the best position to maximize career earnings. Either that or do the 2 year bridge since EP is going to boost his goal scoring totals as they develop their games and chemistry and then get a monster contract after that if he ends up hitting 35-40 goals with EP.
