You probably pick a goalie every 2nd draft if you don't have a bonafide #1. If you don't have a top prospect either, probably every year. What irritates me about trading draft picks is the holes that you have to patch in FA years later.

Benning deserves plenty of criticism for throwing away picks but he's done a very good job of keeping the goalie depth stocked through both the draft and free agency.
