The problem is he’s *also* being used defensively

I agree he will look better. But he will be lucky to hit 40 points on this team again if given 5 minutes less per game + less time with Eichel. It just won’t happen

Playing the defensive minutes he does is taxing. His talents should be focused on the offensive zone.

16-17 - 24.5% (1st)
18-19 - 19.5% (16th)
17-18 - 19.1% (20th)
15-16 - 18.9% (12th)

That is a "decent" powerplay. Slightly better than average over 4 years. Risto is probably a better PP guy than Montour.

He left off - and you included - 2014-15. The year we actually TRIED to lose. Jerry D’Amigo and Zac Dalpe were both on that roster.

It can’t be considered relevant to today - under a completely separate coaching regime, as well.

Increasing his o zone starts and limiting his minutes to 20 a night tops will almost certainly mean he won't "lead" the league in minus again

That would help his trade value
