Unfortunately.

He had that good playoff run in 1984 and then $hit the bed. At least you got Patrick Roy to save the franchise in 85/86.

Yes. That's right. But it resonated because it made so much sense. Unfortunately his time was very ineffective.

Dryden had some great organizational successes - away from the ice.

Most notably he moved the Leafs back to the Eastern Conference.

And of course signing Cujo after bumping into Donny Meehan at a convenience store:

I still recall seeing old George Armstrong coaching the Leafs wondering if he'd fall asleep on the bench. Remember the Demers/Brophy rivalry? 😂

Brophy would have killed him.

Steve Penny? Habs fans remember him. 😉

A friend of mine *loved* him. She had posters (yes, plural) and everything. I couldn't say too much, since the Leafs were so insanely awful. I had to go look it up. Our goalie that year was predominantly a guy named Tim Bernhardt. I literally don't remember him at all.

The Leafs had 4,000 goalies throughout the 80s.

The only memorable one was Palmateer, and that's only because he was OK in the 70s.
