At the moment, it's far from certain that he'll make the team. GMs and coaches follow the path of least resistance when it comes to roster moves. Due to his eligibility for roch without waivers, and because of the numbers (still) on D, he seems to be a likely candidate to go down.

That leaves miller and mojo. Nice adds to be sure, but it remains to be seen if that's enough to make a big difference. The season still hinges on internal development, largely from Mittelstadt in my opinion. I think one more move to get Sheary out of the top-6 RW, or bringing in a center in case eichel gets hurt would have been a good play. Maybe it works out anyway though.

One thing about Joker, Botts keeps mentioning him during every interview he does. He's got that 2018 Tage feel, where it's like, yeah he has a chance to compete, but his chances sound real good kinda thing. Now that we have ultra-depth, you might be right.

I think lack of a move for a 2C speaks to the confidence the GM/Coach have in Mitts.

Why go out and spend to acquire someone who, hopefully if Mitts improves as he should, would be moved down the depth chart in a year.

We completely reshaped the D, which to my surprise I have read people call "legitimately strong"

The better D and a healthy Ullmark should result in much better goaltending.

A coach who can keep the ship pointing forward should help all of the above.

I think if things work out as they likely could, we may be in store for some exciting hockey this year if nothing else.

I enjoyed it but I could never live out that way.

My boy Fedun was a 2-time Raw Deal winner. Never played enough on some really bad defenses.

I dont think Botts has done nothing. But every team does some things in the off-season. There's a difference between that and doing enough. We dont know if he's done enough

as part of the tank i didn't think Fedun was bad.. just not good enough. I felt like he would be a good depth guy to always have at #8 in your system for those playoff shin pad games

His stats were pretty decent at the NHL level. He was certainly better than Antipin, Gorges, Falk and Kulikov imo. I was glad he had a chance to play in Dallas last year
