I think the funnier part is saying Mojo will probably hit 20g, but then deriding him as a 3rd liner. - Lunaion
Or saying the 19 year old D man who played on the top pair for 40 games is “Just an AHL’er” |

Other teams have third liners who score 20G or 40P.
Case in point, Mojo was a third liner on his teams. He probably gets to 20 because he will see second line time and poweplay time here. |

Botterill has said like 3 different times he’s NHL ready - OneKaneOneCup
He probably is, yet there are like 4 Rh NHL Dmen, not just NHL-ready , that are ahead of him on the roster.
It is purely a numbers game, unless he becomes the 2nd Swedish Jesus |

If he plays less than half the nhl games he isn't an nhl defenseman. Early roster projections have him in Rochester. |

It's possible the timing of the Hunwick announcement is a message to GMs that he's cap compliant and other teams need to pony up some premium bottcoin for a d man |

Thanks,
I've been watching the Weather Channel and there are like 20 different paths it could take....they keep saying it is far too early to believe any one specifically.
Hoping that the pressure off the northern coast softens so that it goes up the Easter coast...but that seems like a dream. |

Yeah,
I thought the same thing..."I don't have to trade" angle.
As far as trade targets for, I think Tampa, Vancouver and Florida are out of it now.
Leaving The Peg, Anahiem(?), And not sure who else left. |

He’d be the Finnish Jesus. In an ideal world Miller is on the third pair and Montour on the 2nd pair. I think the Joker can eventually be Dahlin’s partner long term. |

I'm getting really tired of the implication that anyone who expected more movement is unreasonable. So let's look at this question.
1. Vesey in, Pommer out. Remember the sabres also are losing players. I like Vesey a touch better, but as far as addressing offense, this move is close to a wash.
2. Mojo - third line player with health issues. Probably gets 20 goals. Nice pickup.
3. Miller - A genuinely great move.
4. Olofsson is not an addition. He was here at the end of last year, and besides he is a rookie. There is a great chance his impact isn't significant this year.
5. Joker - AHL player. I swear 90% of this board didn't know his name when we picked him up. The hawks need defensive help and they signed two top 4 D, which means Joker wasn't going to play in the NHL there either. He could become amazing, but I doubt we will see him until 2020.
So, 'roster surgery' ended up being calling up an AHL player, trading for pomminville's replacement and a second pairing defenseman, and signing a third liner. Oh and adding defensive depth to Rochester.
Keep in mind Bogosian and Pilut are both on IR, both of whom would be top 7 if they were healthy. Those are subtractions for at least the first couple months. - matty12345

Given that Perry isn't even healthy, you're probably right.
I'm just busting balls.
I'm getting to the point of "if there was a trade for Ristolainen to be had, it would have happened by now". |

He looked good last week, and showed promise on STs. I'm good with him staying.
Now Risto on the other hand...I wish they would trade him for O help. Each passing day seems to reduce that probability. |

Not true in that you don't think they are good defensemen? In that case i agree somewhat. But the hawks definitely plan to play them both.
There is no way Joker was making the top 6, which is why they traded him. |

Depends what Bogo's status is. Will he be close to coming back for the start of the season? I'm sure they'll IR him, but he's not getting sent down, and I have a hard time believing they would do that for Scandella either. The clearest path for him is either further injuries or a trade |
