injuries are always a factor. and with respect to luck? well, as a canucks fan, i can tell you we get luck.... andrew luck retiring at 29 type of luck.
i'm with you on the scoring. i'm worried about the defense though. i'm not confident in myers and hughes is a rookie so i'm expecting mistakes. those 2 should be getting pretty good minutes so it could be a factor. i'm all in favour of working through hughes' mistakes but will the coach be? - RealityChecker
I think Green will give Hughes some leeway as Green knows what comes with Offencive dmen that can skate. Hughes skates better than 2/3rds of the league already so he'll be fine IMO.
Myers though is a bit of a ? I watched him a lot in the WPG games and I know what we get. Hopefully he takes the next step here as he was held back a bit in WPG. |

That is a very good point .
I was thinking about what Makita said yesterday about everyone coming back in a few weeks and it will settle down. I don't think there will be a bigger year of I told you so ( one way or the other no matter what the outcome) I don't think I have ever seen the fans so divided as this year.
The media just love this. It is keeping all the TSN people employed. I think it was you a few years back that said the only way TSN1040 can now exist was to stir the pot , when they lost the Canucks rights.
People are like sheep and whatever the media says half will follow and get angered 1040 or sit and sing Kumbaya 650 - VANTEL
i normally don't respond to you but honest question:
do people really listen to the radio anymore? i mean that seriously. i haven't listened to 1040 or the new station since i don't know how long.
i might listen to linked interviews here and there but i don't need JAGs (just another guy's) opinions. i get that to my heart's content here. |

Did you find out who banned/flagged you? - Nucker101
Don’t you be adding fuel to the fire.
No flagging needed. The personal nature of the attacks all by themselves got the attention of the MODS and the deserved punishment.
I think we can be witty without being vulgar. Some people just take it too far. |

Ideally, if they are struggling in December then Green should be fired. - Marwood
I think Green gets a much longer leash now that JB has got his extension. |

What do you think the atmosphere in Rogers is going to be like this season. Interesting to see how many games they sell out. - bloatedmosquito
I think it'll be livelier than we've seen in a while. I hope I can make it down to go to a game or 2 this year, I'm going to Van in Nov but it's right during the middle of a long road trip. |

I don't listen at home . I listen on my drive to and from work and in between calls as I am driving. I haven't turned on 1040 since they lost the contract but SN650 always have full phone boards |

Agreed.
It's very rare to see a GM survive through 2 coach firings, especially if he hired both coaches. - Nucker101
I dunno man, although unlikely I could see Green getting canned and JB staying. JB has the vote of confidence from management thanks to drafting EP BB and QH. Being out of a playoff spot in January or February would definitely mean they both go in my mind, but should we fall just short in the last couple of weeks I could see Green leaving and JB staying |

I’m getting the feeling that the more I post the longer Minivan stays away.
Don’t worry everyone, I’m going to be here for awhile. |

I think they will take a very good look at QH on the PP in the preseason. Try him in as many scenarios as they can. If he shows like EP did, it will be the 1st unit for him in my mind.
Considering QH skated the puck out of his own end 29 times in 5 games... twice as many times as the next Canuck and he never stopped to drop pass it back more than once as far as I kept track... it shouldnt be hard for him to earn Green's trust 5 on 5.

I dl the podcasts from 650 so I can just jump ahead to the worthy parts and they remove the commercial breaks. I also listen to them while driving or doing chores etc... live is torture.

I am not sure Willie D is a true Benning hiring. Back then Canucks were still paying Torts his big salary and I bet Bennings expense budget to find a new coach was equivalent to the salary of a Walmart greeter.
I know the big hopes that year was to hire Trevor Benning and Dejardins . I think it was predetermined by ownership who would be filling those spots.

I hope not. I agree with Makita, that there were times when the team simply was not prepared and seldom adjusted to games where his system seemed ineffective.
Having said that, firing a 3rd coach and you have to start looking at the gm. *ducks* |
