Flyers will be a powerhouse when they trade proorov for Weremski and Konecy for Connor. I am NOT OK with this and neither is my Leafs source who is part of the weaker faction.

Laine is an inconsistent, one dimensional player. Domi is a hard working, consistent player who could eventually be a captain of a team.

Montreal would be making a mistake doing this. Wake up, Ek.

Laine is 21. Domi was junk until just this passed season. The reason the Habs got him was cause the Coyotes weren't patient and wrote him off too soon like you're doing with Laine. 24 yr old Laine imo will be a beast.

Domis value is augmented by the fact hes the best C on the Habs and thus makes him more valuable to fans and management.

Yes because Montreal should trade one of their only players that can capably play top six center for another winger.

No, Calgary! Sign him short term so Tkachuk can go home the second he’s a UFA.

A fair trade would be:

To MTL: Patrik Laine, Mathieu Perreault

To WPG: Max Domi, Nick Suzuki, Victor Mete, 2020 first round pick

If people believe that Laine is a "generational goal scorer", this trade would be a rip off for Montreal.

I can’t see them giving up that much and eating a terrible contract for a guy who, despite being incredibly talented, is a huge question mark when it comes to work ethic and consistency. Drop Perrault and the first and you might be getting closer.

Didn’t intend on commenting on this, the latest false headline. However, I was blown away by how much Habs fans over-value Domi. He does many things well, but he does not have anything notably special about him, aside from maybe his Diabetic condition as an NHL player...

Laine is not as well rounded as of Aug 31/19. I don’t think there’s much debate there. But we are comparing a guy (Domi) who probably just came off the best year he will have as an NHL player vs a guy who will have just played the worst season he’ll have in the next decade... which was still a 30G season.

Domi has 64G over 4 seasons... yes, I’m aware that 3 were in Arizona. Laine has that number beat if you add together any 2 of his 3 seasons. Defensively, Laine’s game began to improve near the end of this horrendous -24 season, but Domi was more responsible all season. Believe it or not, “sell high” on Domi is likely a thought in Montreal. But back in Winnipeg, even though local boy Max Domi would be welcomed with open arms... Laine will not be exiled after a couple comments and a bad year in which he battled injury (and attitude). He’s a goal scorer. When the puck goes in the net, his attitude is great and it gains steam from there. When he has a slump, I think he’s overthinking it and letting frustration get to him. If he can weather the slumps and keep them minimal, the rest of his game will be more enjoyable and he’ll play a better game. At that point, criticism won’t bother him as much. Fact of the matter... whether you like it or not, Laine is the heir to the perennial-Rocket Richard favourite throne if Ovi ever slows down. The fact that Hellebuyck was bruising and Laine had to stop shooting at full power in practice is also a contributing factor that coincided to when his slump started after November. They gave him the green light again after Christmas, but too late.

Domi is a good player, Laine is an offensive powerhouse. Give the latter a real centerman, and he’ll push 50 goals. Little is dead weight on that line, and Chevy knows he funked up by signing that extension (far too soon in that season, far too much money, far too long, AND a NMC to put the cherry on top). Now I’m mad again, and need a beer. Cheers

Kotkaniemi - Laine would be the foundation of the Habs future 1st line. I’ll take that over a Domi - whoevertheyputhere line any day.

The trade listed is a rip off.

Domi + 1 one of those other pieces + Some other pick or something.

I think the issue with finding the right value is that Domi had a great year, and Laine had a poor year by their standards. Prior to this year, the value is not even comparable. We would have a much better idea after this coming season.
