Honest question...
When someone spews forth with their anti-religious posts, shall we flag him/her as well?

I, like others, practice my religion but also keep the preeching out as I know no one wants to hear it. Likewise, I don't want to hear anti-religious views as well. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Right?

- IonSabres

I’ll never criticize or poke fun at someone that ‘has religion’. I mean, if it gets them through tough times and they find something in it then great.

I’m of the opinion that until I see someone turn water into wine or split the frigging Red Sea in front of me I call bullpoop. I believe in a higher power. A creator. But it’s damn sure not a man and it’s not found in a bible.

Who’s right ? The Jews, the Christians, the Muslims, the Buddhists, etc., etc. They ALL claim that their god is the one and only. It’s all bullpoop.

Hockey talk, hockey talk, hockey talk.

Well stated Ion.
I appreciate your level headed approach.

I was merely trying to be a messenger for those interested.

But, I have duly noted that many folks here do not appreciate it so moving forward, I will certainly respect that.

There's enough hate and lunacy running amok in this world as we see evidenced on a daily basis.

I certainly don't want to fuel that fire here.
I respectfully apologize to those that may have been offended, but being offensive was never my intent.

Look at all of the "hockey" related posts here, as usual.
But expressing faith and hope is frowned upon.
🤦‍♂️

No, being insufferable is frowned upon

First. Inadvertently flagged this post.

Second. The late Joseph Campbell had some interesting parallels when it came to the religions of the world. Some good reeding.

That said, what are the two subjects to be avoided in a bar?

Ha ! Same two topics that shouldn’t be discussed on HB.

I flagged myself, too. I’m out of order !

Honestly, The Sikh's. The only religion that anyone who practices it does so in it's truest form and never goes extremist. They are very peaceful, but will (frank) you up if you deserve it.

Those are good some damn good people.

I think the problem has more to with the name calling and smug, self-satisfied, holier-than-thou attitude than the contents of the message

That said, I won't flag him or anyone else, but I will troll him mercilessly, as is my allah-given right.

Jake McCabe is pretty good when he's healthy, but damn sometimes he gets himself into a nice scoring situation and just blows it.

I'd like to get a 75 game season out of him to really figure out if he is worth being here and at what role

With 2 years on this deal, I could see him being a cap casualty once it's done. Not sure he's the kind of player to make a commitment to anyway

I agree. I’ve dealt with some in my line of work. Always quiet and respectful. A very “live and let live “ religion.

I like Jake as a 3rd pairing Dman.
Problem is like many players on the Sabres, he/they have been forced to play up a line/pairing since the talent level above has been lacking.

Like I say about ERod...we'll know the Sabres are good when ERod is on line 4...similarly with McCabe when he is a 3rd pairing Dman.

It is, I agree.
Not fast enough for a large (?) portion of the fanbase that is expecting to be a bubble or playoff team though.
Should be an interesting season.

Yeah. And they have every right to be frustrated and impatient. Botts need a few of these picks to hit--Mitts, Cozens, Olofsson, Borgen, UPL

Any word on Cozens ? I just remember hearing it was a “couple months” kind of thing.

I wish like hell that we’ll catch lightning in a bottle and he’s the 2nd coming of Getzlaf.

I like his drafts so far, so IMO we will have a decent pipeline coming.
Next year with some decent Cap room enables him to fill in the holes.

While I get 5he frustration, as I have succumbed to it several times, more patience is required.
Need to get through this season and see the core and supporting players play well/develop properly

The more they get from the youngins, the less they'll need to acquire via free agency
