In a weird way, that may give the Leafs a little leverage. - Atomic Wedgie
it's been oddly quiet with which way the nhlpa is leaning.
i need spatso to explain to me if:
i) this is a 'no smoke, no fire' situation, or
ii) the silence means payroll will be zero next year and how a melnyk sale is imminent. |

I just want to be able to play Tecmo Superbowl again - with the proper controllers.
Yes, I know there are simulators out there, and I just have to download them.
But I'm lazy as hell. - Atomic Wedgie

It's amazing how Blizzard can continue to capitalize on revitalizing their old games for massive profits instead of making new ones.
It took decades for NES and SNES games to come back to life through nostalgia. - JohnFergusonJr
WOW was liquid cocaine man. It is pretty sad though. Some dudes made the WOW Classic mod by themselves and got banned and sued, only for the company two years later to give the consumers the product they wanted at full price again. |

There are emulators. And they work great.
15 bucks for a USB controller. |

That's why they got banned and sued; because Blizzard needed to capitalize on it.
Why make a new WOW or WC4 when the old one sells just fine.
I never got into WOW. A lot of time and money saved. |

What do you think about Luck retiring? - bixll
He needs time to recover but didn't want to deal with the pressure of having to come back quickly.
It might be a year or two, but he'll be back. Way too much money left on the table not to. |

I didn't really follow the Colts, so I don't really have any kind of emotional reaction to it.
But I tip my hat to the guy; if you don't think you can mentally commit 100% to doing everything you have to do to play at your highest level, the right thing to do is walk away. Preserve your health.
I don't think the general public has a grasp on just how physically punishing the NFL is.

That'd be a pretty good deal for the Leafs.
Fits under the cap and not a UFA when the deal expires. |

I'm trying to think of a single example of an NFL guy walking away for a year or two and being able to come back.
Other than Le'Veon Bell, I can't think of one.
As stated earlier, I don't really know much about Luck, but my guess is he's done for good. |

And I'd agree with you for every position except QB. And kicker.
Manning took a whole year off too and came back with a vengeance.
Now that I Google it, Lynch, Moss, Williams, Reggie White, Deion Sanders. |

Where's Shacksy I owe him an apology. AM did want 8 years ...just at a number that made less sense to the Leafs than 5 x 11.6.
Geez, wonder how high it was. Gotta think that if it was 8 x 12.5 the Leafs would have preferred that. 13+? ...or 14+? .... - The Law

Now Matthews is fuming and automatically wants to go to Arizona in 5 years. At least that’s what I hear from “fans” |

I’d sign him to a bridge deal.
I think his agent and dad is just telling him to holdout as long as possible.
I mean if he signs today or next Thursday it’s not going to change his training camp much. |

Just looking at the Wiki for Favre - he retired and then came back - didn't miss a season.
But wow, I had forgotten how ugly his divorce from the Packers was.
And it doesn't get into the whole scandal of him sending naughty pictures to a woman.

Yeah, that could very well be a factor.
But he said he lost his love for the game.
If he's been playing football his whole life and was really passionate about it, that love might come back when he's fully healthy.
If he had not retired, he'd be rushing his recovery, probably get hurt again and watch the cycle repeat itself.
If he gets healthy and happy again, he could come back at his age.

Took me 20 minutes to remember who our backup is this season. Are we really going with hutch?
Also forgot about schmaltz does he have a shot at this roster |

It doesn’t fit the narrative that he doesn’t want to stay in Toronto so it didn’t happen. Personally I think he’s staying with the Leafs long term. |

If they do, they'll probably regret it. Their back-up situation is pretty bad.
Schmaltz is Carrick 2.0. |
