I agree. But what DCT said is true as well, Goldobin is arguable the 2nd most skilled forward on this roster with the puck, unfortunately it hasn't translated to enough offense and he brings nothing else to the table outside of offense. - Nucker101
Goldobin is not the 2nd most skilled player on the team. Not even close. He is a decent passer and has the odd dangle but his overall skill set isn’t close to guys like Miller, Baertschi and horvat.
Edit: forgot Boeser. If you think he is more skilled than boeser...I can’t even

I'm super surprised you wouldn't know the difference between hockey related debate and making comments about people being molested as children. - manvanfan
Not meaning to call you out specifically(I apologize if this is your projection and not what you actually want), but I find it odd that some of the same people who think JV gets too much hate and still has another step to take offensively also are the same people who propose him playing with Sutter as his center.
That's exactly how you kill a young winger's confidence, by playing him with a center who can't make plays for his wingers. Any winger on his or Beagle's line will take a hit offensively, those dudes just don't possess the natural vision that a true center does. - Nucker101
I mean I have always liked Kopitar and Carter but the rest of the team can kind of go (frank) themsevles. - manvanfan
Did like Dion when I was a kid, but never really liked the kings. Probably all those years of Gretzky setting records against the Canucks.
What I'm saying is cheering for the Canucks doesn't make us better than someone who cheers for the kings, I.e. "King's fans" aren't stupid, which what it sounded like you were saying.

No offense, but I’ll take Benning’s opinion over yours. It’s not like he’s talking about a player on another team that he’s only scouted a handful of times, he’s seen him play a lot of games.

His projection had nothing to do with which team I thought he cheered for.
I was just looking at some of the things his twitter said and he seemed like a fan of a team like the Kings.
I'm no benning bro but I think hes right. Benning isnt saying anything about his shot, defense, skating, back checking, motor, or anything else, but is saying he thinks hes one of the most creative players with the puck on the team. I dont disagree. Goldy has a ton of potential with the puck, but is a garbage fire when he doesnt have it, which is basically all the time when he doesnt play on a line with petey. Goldy needs soo much work to round out his game, but creativity with the puck, hes gotta be up there near the top in regards to the team

You are talking about JB's opinion on NHL talent and with the NHL scouts that's his biggest question mark by far.
If miller gets pushed down to 3C because of depth, people will whine about benning giving up a 1st for a really good 3C, but having a player of Millers calibre as a 3C who can play 1st PP, that's a good thing. Atleast in my opinion

For sure it is, but Goldobin isn't a dude he's only scouted a handful of times which is likely the case when it comes to players he's overpaid to acquire. Outside of Sbisa and maybe Hutton, he hasn't really drastically overpaid any of his own players when re-signing them. So I think he a has a decent handle on his own players, it's the evaluations of other teams' NHL/AHL players that Benning and his pro scouting staff have had some difficulty with.

I don't know. Going with the same defence was a bad evaluation of his own team
Gudbranson overpaid for and then over signed is a pretty big black mark on an otherwise stellar record.

The complaining will happen even if Miller is on the 2nd line. I just want whats best for the team... could care less about anything else.
