I'll do a roll call next week to see who's in and who's out. I think Vantel said he's out this year, so we may need to find replacement owners or possibly just throw those players into the draft pool. - Nucker101

Ferland should be great on the PP as well as long as players on that unit can get pucks to the net. I was surprised to find out Ferland had more PP points last season than EP who was the Canucks best. - boonerbuck
Carolina has a dynamite defensive core. I'm not super surprised tbh. Canucks will have a bit of that dimension with Hughes, but pettersson didn't really have a good power play quarterback like ferland did. Edler is a fine PP1 guy, but would probably never be considered a 1st unit guy on most teams. |

Who (frank)ing cares about creativity with the puck. We are talking about skill. Passing is a skill. Shooting is a skill. Winning board battles is a skill. Defending is a skill. If anyone thinks Goldobin is the second most skilled player then they are either doing listerine bombs in the park with Tiny or they are smashing bath salts with Kuzzi. 🛀 salt 🧂 - CanuckDon
When I used to watch the Wheat Kings all the time. It was always amazing to see how some kids could dangle and dangle and dangle for days and make defenders look stupid until you realize that nothing ever came out of all the dangling, defender still between them and the goal, no goal was scored, no shot had gotten off or no teammate was set up. It looked awesome though.
If Goldy nightly wants to do what he did to Doughty and score. He will be a legit top 6 forward. Without something that nightly. He's probably just a KHL all star. |

I'm going to go with 24 power play points for Hughes this season. 42 points all together. |

People are still fixated on the breakaway goal he scored in his first or second game with the team. He often goes several games without demonstrating high end skill (with the puck just for Nucker) |

I think they will run 2 D on PP #2. Myers and Edler on the point. Hughes the one D on the 1st unit once he gets settled in.

People don't remember the little things players do to help team wins on a nightly basis. They remember the highlight reel goals and that's it.
That's why in the playoffs you win with players like Jonathon Toews JB said, Didn't say you win with players like Patrick Kane. |

Lol I cant defend things that were never said. Goldy is a tire fire 98% of the time, but is a creative puck handler, that's basically goldy in a nut shell. - Codes1087
You can fabricate any poop you want. That's what the haters have been doing about Benning for forever |

It's not even my argument, to me it's only arguable that he's top 2, but at the very least he's top 5 on this team with his skill level with the puck, that doesn't mean I think he's a legit top 6 NHL forward though.
I was just clarifying what DCT said and paraphrasing with Benning said. |

Edler on PP1 to start and they play Hughes with Myers is my guess. About a quarter of the way into the season they'll realize they should swap them. |

It's too bad Goldobin is so flaky on the ice. I like him to be honest and the recent interview he did in Russia only had my respect grow for him a little. Here's a kid who is sticking with it and worked hard the entire time.
Played his junior in NA.
Worked on his English and done a good job.
Has done plenty of AHL and never once whined.
Has had a real tough time with NHL coaches but never whined.
Continues to show a great attitude after all the negative press and fan frustration.
Continues to soldier on through his own doubts.
He has shown great determination to this point. There is nothing to dislike about Goldy. I just doubt he has what it takes to be a top 6 NHLer and nothing in his game by his own admission is suitable for bottom 6 play especially on a team bursting at the seems with bottom 6 talent.
If he is on the top 6 in Oct and gets off to a good start... pump and dump baby. Same thing I said last season but this time JB better wise up. |

Even more impressive when he comes from a country notorious for having their players run home when the going gets tough. |

So it's settled. In 8 years Goldy is going to be just like Alex Radulov. |
