Can't talk about Risto anymore.

What is your list of things that need to happen for the Sabres to make 8th? Mine would be:

1. Eichel plays at least 75 games.
2. Mittelstadt makes a jump to 45 points
3. Dahlin takes a decent step forward (doesn't need to be huge, he is already a top 30 defenseman IMO)
4. One of Hutton and Ullmark has a really good year (.910 or higher)

7. Fans that think risto sucks , but expect a 2c in return.
Basically the most clueless fans that make no sense

Value is in the eye of the beholder.

Risto undoubtedly holds value, and the Sabres have essentially shamed him. Expecting an average man to bench press 350 pounds all the time. He can do some things very well, but for his position, he's worth less than his salary indicated. If you want a PP QB and a #4-5, by all means give us a call. But the player we get back should absolutely be flawed, or limited.

He is young, big, physical, skates fast and scores 40+ pts per year.

While forgetting that he is a huge defensive liability, only scores on the power play, and would lose in a battle of chicken to Gerbe on the ice.

What the (frank) are you babbling about?

He would crush you.

I don't know if you're aware of a terrible phrase from before you were born, but "it would be a two hit fight. Him hitting you, and you hitting the ground."

You couldn't trip him with a shotgun.

Even us risto fans realize there is a limit to the return for him. Especially right now, where the Sabres would be selling at an all time low value.

Saying he sucks ,but expecting a 2c is retarded

We are not going to give risto away

1. Increase in depth scoring - leaders need to be Middlestadt, Dahlin, Montour, Johannson, Vesey, Sheary
2. Playing a better defensive scheme that fits what the players can do, in whatever capacity, to get the puck out of the zone quicker.
3. Improve the transition game. 2-3 passes to get into the offensive zone.
4. Shoot more. Especially with traffic in front of the net.
5. Slightly above average goaltending

I'm not going to presume I know your physique or fighting skilz, you could be a ripped beast capable of competing in the MMA for all I know. That being said, for as much crap us arm chair critics give these players, they are all elite level athletes playing a sport that requires toughness at all positions. I know for a fact that the softest guy in the NHL would beat the everlovin poop out of me.

1 for 1, I would agree, but a top 6 winger should absolutely be in the wheelhouse.

I know Gerbe hates Mantha now, but he's actually a pretty quality top 6 winger.

is the second rule.. over pay someone to flip things and jump on top of stuff in some crappy building meanwhile you have everything that they have at their homes..

true story there is a cross fit gym in the office park i am at, half the time its just a bunch of overweight middle aged people running around the parking lot carrying a medicine ball or dragging weights while running.

i think a top 6 winger is by far the highest value you get for risto though.. and i think no one is jumping on it and that is why he is still here
