He’s full of poop. He was already making a $6 million per year cap hit for 3 years before he came here. He doesn’t want to admit it to himself that he can’t skate in this league anymore. All this talk about how he’s in great shape coming into camp for the Flames is a joke. They said the exact same things last year about him and he was terrible.

Wasn't he saying he chose the Oilers in free agency because he wanted the chance to bring leadership to a young group lead by incredible talents like McDavid? And to play in a city with such deep hockey roots like Edmonton? Now its their fault they thrust him into the position. If he thinks Calgary will be any different he should look at what happened to Dion Phaneuf and how the city chased him when he was a cancer in the community. He got chased fast once the honeymoon was over.

IF Neal turns his game around and returns to his usual self or close to, and Milan continues his trend i expect the same result. In 2 years the Flames fans will be on a hunt for Tre's head and demand they get rid of both him and Lucic at any cost. If Neal doesnt improve its meh, garbage for garbage, at least they saved a few bucks. And from an Oiler perspective, at least they got rid of a fan and media target and an albatross of a contract without having to retain 50% as was expected from an their end. Dumping it on the Flames is just icing on the cake.

All the talk about him "being in great shape" is hilarious because it sidesteps the actual issues: his mind and his hands. He doesn't think the game well anymore and his hands struggle to perform the basic actions required of even fringe NHLers. Even when he was here, whenever I'd read those articles I'd always get a chuckle.
